Nari closed out the game and logged into her online bank account. She pulled out her budget book and recorded the recent transactions. She knew she couldn't rely on Yoo SangHoon forever to help her when there was a crisis, and her inheritance was starting to drop from all of her expenses with her driving business. Her job paid very well for a single woman without debt, but what would she do if something happened and she couldn't work anymore?
The game started out as a pastime with her uncle. When people started paying for the new assassin feature, she decided to try it out. She never dreamed she would do so well and make so much.
She looked over the money she had earned in recent months. It had brought her balance to what it was when she first cashed out her stocks and bonds. She would be able to quit the game soon, which is something she wanted to do for a while. All the death in real life turned her off to a character whose existence was all about death.
She sighed deeply as she stood and stretched. She was starting to feel like her old self. The week of putting emotional distance between herself and her clients helped tremendously, but doing so with JiHo started to hurt. She missed him. She wondered if he missed her, too.
She went to her balcony and watered her plants. They were a variety of lilies and a few palms. She had recently been able to move them out from being inside during the cold, and they were doing well soaking up the late Spring, early Summer sun.
When she was done, she returned inside and removed her gaming costume. She folded everything neatly and tucked it all away inside a drawer at the bottom of her dresser.
Turning toward her closet, she looked at the masquerade gown Yoo SangHoon had bought her. It was the most expensive thing she had ever owned, except for her car. The crystal accents were Swarovski, and they were all over it.
She left her bedroom and sat at her white dining room table. Spread out were crafting materials that included beads, wires, feathers, crystal charms, golden accent pieces, and a lovely, filigreed, rose gold metal mask.
"Swan or angel?" she wondered as she held up the pieces.
The gown was mostly white with some pastel flowers here and there. The airy material of the skirts and the billowing sleeves looked more angelic, so she went for that design.
"Should I have wings?" she wondered as she looked at a bag of white feathers. She laughed to herself. "Too cheesy."
She picked up the controller to the stereo and opened her playlist. She had a mix that included the singer she and JiHo both liked. She smiled at the thought of him listening to the same music and hit play.
