'Patience, my lord. Once you've endured through this pain, your journey to becoming a Celestial will become clearer.' Undead King replied solemnly.

"But this hurts more than any torture found in our kingdom! Not even burning in a vat of oil is as painful as this!" Augustus wailed. He felt that the heat in his abdomen was comparable to that of the Sun.

'Endure, my lord! Endure the pain! The longer you endure, the more rewards you will reap!' The Undead King encouraged him on.

Choosing to believe his killer's words, Augustus X bit down on his lower lip just as he was about to pass out from the scorching pain in his abdomen. He swear he will beat the shit out of his minister if the reward was a lie. What Augustus X hated the most was empty promises, after all.

5 minutes later...

"Undead King! I...I can't endure it any longer!" Augustus X gritted his teeth.

'Ah shit! I've forgotten about you! Forgive me my lord, I was busy recuperating.'

"Undead King, go to hell!" Augustus cursed him loudly. He was on the verge of breaking down from the scorching pain and his killer had forgotten him. He now regretted that he believed his killer in the first place.

'Ah, my lord...I'm deeply sorry. Here, this is my gift to you.'

All of a sudden, Augustus X's abdomen glowed for a moment before it disappeared. The scorching pain in his abdomen subsided as well. "It's finally done..." Breathing a sigh of relief, Augustus X immediately fainted from exhaustion.

Somewhere in the Fields of Asphodel

The Undead King was consuming pomegranate after pomegranate leisurely after he confirmed that there were no other King class beings in the vicinity. After finishing up his meal, the Undead King took out a crystal globe from his satchel. Rubbing his hand on the crystal surface, the image of young man sprawled on a field surfaced. Staring at the man peacefully sleeping , Undead King couldn't help but shake his head in defeat.

He had planned to fulfill his lord's wish and his own wishes a hundred years ago, yet after executing the beginning phase of his meticulous plan. But after successfully killing his lord and transferring his soul over to a human corpse he found in the mortal world, his plan to threaten and have his lord submit have all but failed. All those years of speaking menacingly in front of his mirror have all gone down the drain the moment his lord calmly accepted his reality and forgave him easily. He even doubted whether this person was his lord. His lord was never this nice when it came to treason!

Not only that, the Undead King had the urge to cry when his lord actually survived the process of absorbing his gift unscathed. He had deliberately chosen a normal human's corpse when he transferred his lord soul into. His initial plan of slowly transferring his gift's power over a span of a couple of years have all been destroyed when his lord managed to retain consciousness as the gift slowly and painfully integrated into his body.

'Alas, Lord Augustus X is truly an amazing person.' The Undead King smiled wryly.

Roughly 5 hours later…

Augustus X's eyelids fluttered open to stare at the bright blue moon hanging in the black sky above him. Since his body was sore and aching all over, it took him a while to get up without getting cramps. Once he stood up though, he felt that his body was as light as a feather. His eyesight became incredibly clear and he could see farther too.

As he was doing some stretches to get his body out of its cramped state, he could feel his bones creak and crack unendingly. 'This, was my body originally this stiff? The clothes I was wearing, besides my underwear, everything else was burned away…' Augustus X pondered.

Placing his hand on his abdomen, he couldn't feel anything yet...for some reason, he was more sensitive to his surroundings now than when he had when he woke up. He couldn't explain it yet he liked this sense of closeness with nature.

'So, how do you like that essence core I gave you?' A childlike voice resounded in his head.

"Who are you?! Where's the Undead King?!" Augustus X questioned. The Undead King was a middle aged man who attained immortality through sacrificing billions of convicts. It was because of this act of cruelty and ambition that had caught Augustus X's eyes back then, he then rewarded the Undead King to be one of his ministers and rule the Demon Kingdom along side himself. So, who was this kid?!

'Don't be alarmed, my lord. It's me! Undead King, Sion!' This voice is actually my real voice.' Sion cheerfully replied.

"Huh? Eh?"
