A little while later, Noah took Cora to an area of daisies outside. Candles surrounded them in the darkness.
“What’s this about?” Cora asked with a smile.
“It’s for you,” Noah said, blushing a little.
“Aww! It’s beautiful and right under the stars!” Cora said with a huge smile.
“Not as beautiful as you,” Noah said.
Cora blushed.
“You’re only saying that because you’re my boyfriend,” Cora said.
“No, I’m saying it because it’s true,” Noah said, moving his hand to move a piece of Cora’s hair out of her face and behind her ear.
Cora’s face turned deeper red.
Noah took a deep breath and bent down on one knee.
“What are you doing?” Cora asked, looking surprised.
“Cora Madden, you are the sweetest, kind, caring, funny, beautiful person I’ve ever met. I know what we have is something that happens only once in a lifetime and I don’t ever want to let it go. I love you with my whole heart and I want to spend the rest of life by your side. I want to help you when you need help and help you feel better when you feel down. I want to love you through all of your emotions. Will you let me always stay by my side and let me become your husband? Will you marry me?” Noah said with a huge smile, holding a silver ring in his hand with a simple diamond in the middle.
Cora cupped her hands over her mouth in shock with a huge smile on her face. She then started to cry.
“Yes. Yes I will!” Cora said.
Noah got up off his knee and wrapped his arms around Cora as he embraced her.
“I love you so much,” Noah said, meaning every word he said.
“I love you so much too,” Cora said, meaning every word she said. She took her hands off her mouth and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Noah and Cora then leaned in and kissed each other. They broke the kiss and Noah took Cora’s left hand and slipped the diamond ring on her ring finger.
“It’s beautiful,” Cora said, looking at the ring.
“It was my mom’s,” Noah said, looking at the ring and then back at Cora.
Cora then wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed Noah again.
They kissed each other again and again in the light of the candles, stars, and moon.
“Are you ready to tell the others?” Noah asked, after another kiss.
“Of course I’m ready! I’ve been wanting to show off to everyone that I was going to marry you for a very long time,” Cora confessed.
“Have you now?” Noah said, raising one of his eyebrows.
“Yes,” Cora said, realizing what she said.
“Don’t worry. I’ve been wanting to show everyone that you're mine forever for a long time too,” Noah said, kissing Cora on the head.
Cora giggled.
“I love you,” Noah said.
“I love you more,” Cora said with a smile.
A little while later, Noah and Cora found Jay and Griffin in the kitchen cleaning dishes.
“Jay,” Noah said.
Jay quickly put down the plate she was washing and turned around.
“What did she say?” Jay asked, before turning all the way around.
She noticed Cora standing next to Noah holding up her left hand with a ring around her ring finger. Jay wiped her hands on a towel and rushed over to them. Griffin put down his dish that he was cleaning and turned off the faucet. He turned around looking confused while wiping his hands on a towel.
“What’s happening?” Griffin asked, putting the towel down. He then walked over to where the three of them were standing.
“Noah proposed to Cora and she said ‘yes’,” Jay said, smiling. She stared at the ring on Cora’s hand. “Aw. You gave her mom’s ring.”
“Congrats you guys,” Griffin said with a smile.
“Thanks,” Noah and Cora said in unison.
“When’s the wedding?” Jay asked.
“As soon as possible. I want to do it as soon as possible so that Oliver can be my best man,” Noah said.
“That makes sense,” Jay said.
“Jay,” Cora said.
“Yes,” Jay responded.
“Will you be my maid of honor?” Cora asked.
Jay started to cry. She smiled a huge smile and hugged Cora.
“Of course. It would be my honor,” Jay said.
“And can you bake our wedding cake too?” Noah asked.
“Of course. I can do that too,” Jay said, pulling out of the embrace she made with Cora.
“Can I help make it?” Griffin asked.
“Of course!” Jay said with a huge smile. “I will need all the help I can get!”
“Glad I can help,” Griffin said.
“Thanks guys. We really appreciate it,” Noah said with a smile.
“We’re going to tell everyone else the news,” Cora said, waving ‘goodbye’.
“Wait. You told us first?!” Jay said, surprised.
“Well, of course. I wanted my sister to be the first one to know,” Noah said with a wink.
“Aw!” Jay said, giving them both a hug. “Thanks!”
“No problem,” Noah said.
Cora nodded in agreement.
After telling everyone the news, Cora and Noah found their spot where the flowers were and lay down in them.
“Where are we going to find a wedding dress and tux along with bridesmaids and groom’s outfits too?” Cora asked, turning her head to face Noah.
“We’ll figure something out. I did see a bridal bouquet when we were looking for supplies with Oliver last time. It looked as if no one touched it,” Noah said. “If we can’t find anything, you will still look beautiful in jeans and a t-shirt.”
Cora giggled, “Thanks.”
“Of course, I love you,” Noah said, grabbing Cora’s hand in his.
“I love you too,” Cora said with a smile. They both then turned their heads up at the night sky twinkling with stars.
