I rubbed my hands gleefully together at the e-mails I got from the rest of the gamers in my community, and did a little spin in my chair. One in particular caught my attention. From Big Three, it stated, “Michael, good job on a successful assignment. Polish up your weapons, hero, the minions may be gone but their creator is still on the loose.” I nodded to myself and rubbed my hand over the pommel of the double handed sword on the wall beside my desk. He was right of course, but then He always was.
A crooked grin lifted one corner of my mouth as I logged out of the system. The Demons should have realized that where they were, so were the Angels. The Angelic Networkers Guarding Electronic Logic Systems would be proud when they heard of this day’s work. It was my ancient duty, and I would carry it out as before. One day the devil would come, but until then I would live life. I would do Data Entry by day and be a gamer by night, but with one change. Though I could now fix my programs entirely, I left them be. The female avatar was my own reminder now.
At a sudden thought, I laughed out loud. Angels vs. Demons, the true name of the game!
