Brian, Tyler, and Sammy came out of the Newflower City Gym Stadium later that day with their Grass Badges in hand. The sun was starting to set over the region as a whole as they came outside.
Tyler’s eyes turned to stars as he took out his Rotom-Phone and snapped a few pictures.
“Y’all know what time it is. It’s Golden Hour.”
Brian took out his phone too.
“The perfect hour for photos!”
Their photography session would be interrupted a little, however, as they’d hear the sound of arguing and general commotion nearby. It appeared to be a dude, who was a grey Mexican wolf with a mixture of green and blue patterns, looked about a few inches taller in height and slightly older than the three of them. He was confronting a group of people in weirdly dressed and coordinated clothing; Most notably, two of them were bears; one white with blue spots, and the other was a dark brown with a mixture of blue and black hair strands.
They each had their names stitched on their clothing: One read “Theo” and the other “Amy”. The two were in the middle of a battle with this wolf; Brian, Tyler and Sam stayed a considerable distance away as they watched the three of them battle it out; the two bears had sent out their respective pokemon as well: An Aron and Purrloin.
“Alright, that’s it.”
The wolf shouted and held out a pokeball in his hand, shortly before throwing it up in the air.
“I didn’t want to do this, but you leave me no choice. GO! LUCARIO!”
He’d then look at the bracelet on his hand, and cross his arms. The bracelet started to glow in response.
“Here we go. At full power, Lucario! This is the moment where our strengths combine into ONE!”
Theo went wide eyed.
“Oh no, this better not be what I think it is-”
The wolf’s hands would turn into fists and he repeatedly punched the air.
“And now..use ALL OUT PUMMELING!”
Lucario let out a loud bark and mimicked the wolf’s movements, sending a barrage of fists at the two pokemon. Their trainers would send them back once they fainted.
“Gah. Pesky kids. C’mon Theo, we got better things to do.” Amy gestured. The two and their group of grunts ran away towards the town entrance of Route 8.
The wolf trainer smirked.
“Yeah that’s what I thought.”
He turned around and looked at his three bystanders, walking towards them.
“It’s nice to meet ya, I’m Ryuku. The professor talks about you two quite a bit, haha.”
Brian smiled back.
“Nice to meet you too! And these are my two friends, Sam and Tyler.”
The two would wave, but Sammy bounced up and down excitedly.
“Duuuude, you did so awesome! Especially with that bracelet of yours!”
Ryuku looked at his wrist.
“Oh, this? This is called a Z-Ring. Allows me to use powerful moves like I did with my Lucario.”
“Any chance you’d know where to get one?”
Tyler asked curiously.
The wolf scratched his chin.
“Hmm..well, this was given to me by my father, but I think the only known place to get this sort of thing is at the Gemstone Fort. That’s suuuper out of the way though, it’s all the way on Route 11.”
He’d look towards the sunset.
“I want to try and get to Westerdon before night falls for my third badge. Where are you guys headed?”
“We’re going for our second, actually.”
Brian answered back.
“Ah, I see. Well you’ll have to hit up the Southton City Stadium. If you want to get there quick, you guys will have to take the Corviknight Airlift. If you guys can catch up, maybe I’ll show ya to Gemstone Fort.”
Ryuku would say, snapping his fingers before heading to the gate to leave the city.
“Catch y’all later!”
Brian, Tyler and Sam watched as he walked away.
Sam turned towards the two.
“Well he seems like a cool dude.”
“Right? I’m honestly curious about getting a Z-Ring myself now, too.”
Brian said back.
Tyler laughed.
“We’ll each get one in time. For now, we should heal up our Pokemon and take the Corviknight Airlift to Southton, just like Ryuku suggested.”
Brian looked down at his belt.
“Right. Yeah. Let’s go do that. C’mon, guys. Maybe we should stay put since it’s dusk, and we’ll head out tomorrow.”
A Rewritten Version of a Pokemon story I had once done in High School!
*This is a very limited series.
Featuring our Caribbean Escapades stars, Brian, Tyler, and Sammy, they venture throughout the Furui Region and do what any 13 year old kid would do; Explore, meet new friends, defeat the Gym Leaders and become Champion. Just your average Pokemon journey would be.
