A thumping noise can be heard from behind the tree, your blindspot. You tremble as you try to rationalize what could be making that sound. Maybe it was some wild critter scurrying across the forest’s ground, so on and so forth. It was not that or anything that you would consider comforting. It was the very demonic creation you were struggling to avoid.
“Boo…!” The creature exclaims breathily. “Finally, … I’ve found you…!”
You shudder and your legs almost buckle. How could you have made such a witless move? You realize that this’ll be the last time you see, feel, breathe, etc. You’ll never see this world again, and it was all because of you and your breathily sigh of disappointment. “Hello? Is anybody there?” He asks while chuckling. “I would’ve at least expected a flight type of prey since they usually are. I wish you were just for the chase. I love the hunt, could you at least try to escape just for the sake of it?”
You begin to release fluids from your eyes. The tears roll down your cheeks. You couldn’t help but do so, given the situation. You are stuck in a position where you can’t move. You’re stuck at a standstill. There’s no progressing further(excluding death) nor is there any way to regress(escape the situation.) You refuse to accept your fate.
You leap onto your right foot(the ankle injury is located on the left) and limp forward, as quickly as you possibly can to avoid your demise. You reach a speed that can be considered no further than a speed walk. The monster slowly drags his feet just behind you, awaiting for your stamina depletion. You could hear its crooked, atrocious laughter from only a few feet behind you. A shiver runs down your spine.
You, a young adult, have stumbled into a forest. Something otherworldly is behind you, preying on you deep into the night. Will you manage to escape, or will you die trying?
