Glitched Out

Chapter 9.

Chapter 9.

Mar 10, 2022

I heard a knock on the door. “Yes?” I asked. “Can we…talk?” I heard Robyn say. “Sure,” I said, slightly scared. They opened the door and shut it behind them. They locked the door as well. I was shaking, more scared of what was going to happen. “Oh shit, man. That doesn’t seem good,” I heard Brandon say. Robyn sat down in front of me. “So, wh-what’s up?” I asked, trying not to be scared. “Don’t worry, Ash. I’m not breaking up with you,” Robyn said. “Oh,” I said. “I wanted to sit and talk with you. You had just lost your mom and you almost died and you had always been…perfect. Your life seems to be fucked up,” they said. I heard Brandon spit something out. “My life isn’t completely fucked. I mean, hey I have you, Lapis, and Julia. Sure I have my family but you three…make me feel loved. You three make me feel like I’m more,” I said. Robyn smiled and put their hand on my shoulder. They kissed me, placing their hand on my chest.

They pulled away. “I’ll let you get some rest,” they said, getting off the bed. “Wait, can you stay? Just like the old times,” I said, placing my hand on their cheek. They flinched at first but they quickly calmed down. “Sure, I can stay. If that’s what you want,” they said. “Do you want to stay?” I asked. “Yes, but I feel-” Robyn said. “Robyn, if you stay or not, I would be okay with either. Whatever makes you happy, makes me happy,” I said. “Alright then. I will stay!” they said. “Okay,” I said. “Nice work Romeo. What’s next? Save Juliet from their toxic ass family war with yours and drink poison together,” I heard Brandon say, laughing his ass off. Robyn sat down on the bed and I sat on the floor. I sighed under my breath and shook my head. “Wanna watch a movie with me on my laptop?” I said. “Sure,” they said.

I grabbed my laptop and placed it on the bed with them. They laid down on my lap as the movie started. “Hey Robyn?” I asked. “Yeah?” they asked. “Why did you wear this dress, especially on this day?” I asked. “Well, I missed you. You've been in the hospital for a month and I wanted to feel you. I wanted to feel something of you. This dress was the best thing I could think of because you made it. It reminded me of you,” Robyn said. I smiled at the thought. I kissed their forehead and the movie truly started.

Being perceived as normal should have been good, right? Even though Ash would never be normal, he lived what was viewed as an average life. He was the really smart and attractive triplet. Everyone loved Ash. His life was pretty much perfect to everyone. Who would be perfect with the famous, billionaire playboy, his beautiful wife, and two extremely talented brothers as their family. The truth of him and his family would soon be spilled out to the public once his mother died after giving birth. His father, Malcolm, was always drunk and out late at night which left the triplets with the twins, Alex and Alexa. One day, Malcolm came home sober and with someone. Someone Ash was in school with. Now with her dating his only living parent, he has to listen to her like she is his parent. Maybe the power got to her head.

Ash isn’t a normal 18-year-old boy. He has what people would call an alter ego. Two different souls in the same body with the same problems. Glitching out.
