The Omega Test

Rouge's Attack (2/2)

Rouge's Attack (2/2)

Mar 18, 2022

“You’re sure that’s an accurate count? Was there any scents in the trees?” I asked. The new wolves looked at me and turned to the Coach. Folding my ears back I ignored them and turned to the Pack behind us. “Gather more Alpha’s there’s word that some are hiding. We need at least fifteen more wolves.”
Three got up quickly and rushed back into the Den to do as I asked.
“The first formation will consist of five wolves, two will break off and leave with three. The two that broke off will have a pack of five behind them waiting. The remaining will follow Coach or Alpha Snow’s call. We want only three to be shown at all times. If the Rouge’s are planning an ambush it’s only right that we have our own in waiting.”
“What do you think will happen, Omega-Born?”
“I’ll be in the first formation with Coach and Alpha Snow and two of their trusted wolves. The trusted wolves will have five of their trusted wolves. The Coach or Alpha Snow will call for the rest of the Pack that wasn’t assined to a leader. The two packs of five will wait until they are needed or if more show up.”
“So we let their guard down first with only three wolves showing and even more so when you are the smaller one. They won’t expect that the remaining seven isn’t our only back up,” Alpha Snow commented.
“Their main focus will be on you and Coach, they’ll think that I’m an offering. I’m betting that they are forcing a Peace Treaty between our Pack’s. If that happens then we’ll know for sure that this is an over take. After the fight make sure that the food and water supplies are ok and have a patrol over see it for the next week. Ah, we might have to step out of territory to make absolute sure that nothing was tampered with. Would that be possible?”
“Yes Alpha, we can make that happen,” Coach said.
“How much of this plan is your Wolf?” Alpha Snow asked.
“None, Justice doesn’t talk much. He’s a very silent wolf when he wants to be, I’m sure he trusts my judgement and would speak if he does not agree.”
“So how will we know when things go south?” Alpha Snow asked.
“I’ll give the Rouge’s a warning, by the second warning-”
“There will be no second warning,” Coach growled. “If they don’t back down we’ll call the wolves.”
“Understood,” I acknowledge.
“We have our plan?” Alpha Snow asked.
“Yes, fill the wolves of our plan Alpha Snow,” Coach said.
The Scouts looked at Coach ready for their next order, I looked at them and started talking. “Tell Alpha Rodger and Alpha Franklin of what’s going on and what will happen. The Alpha will know what the next move will be and will more likely take action as soon as he knows.”
The Scouts growled at me and I folded my ears back. I quickly took one down and held him down with a paw and took the other down just as easily and held him down with my other paw. They struggled just like Alpha Snow did and I let them up. The kept themselves low and ran back into the Den. I hope they do as I say.
“Alpha, you need to assert domanince by words alone this time. You need to show that you are of higher rank,” Coach said sternly.
“Then stay behind me and don’t raise your head, don’t even speak,” I stated and adjusted my stance. I never rose my head above the others, I never stood taller than anyone. I’ll need to calm myself and not show weakness. All those spars with those Alpha’s was for this very moment.
Looking at the Pack they waited and watched Coach as he returned.
I walked to the head of the Pack and unleashed a loud howl.
Just like that, everyone took their places. I watched them with a calm look but I was nervous. I never lead the Alpha’s.
Happy with the arrangement I turned and started walking, I heard their steps behind me.
Quiet.
Practiced.
I picked up the pace.
As we neared the place of the Rouge’s some fell back and hid in the shadows as they were told and soon it was just Coach, Alpha Snow and myself. Soon I smelled them, they were from different packs meld into one and the unmistaken scent of Copper.
Glancing back to my two Beta’s they nodded having kept their heads low, turning forward I slowed my pace at the sight of a wolf. The Scout’s were right, only five were visable but I smelled more.
I continued to walk until the one in the center howled.
It sounded so weak I was almost tempted to howl to show what a real howl of power was like. But stopped myself from doing so and continued to walk not convinced that they were strong in the slightest.
It worked.
The Rouge Leader faultered and gave a stronger howl this time. I stopped my gaze never leaving the light grey wolf.
“Greetings Alpha’s,” the light grey wolf said softly but then rose their voice. Were they worried that I would be scared off? “What have you brought for us?”
“You are trespassing on Northern Waters Pack borders,” I said strongly and loudly. My words were met with a snort from a few wolves but I remained unbothered and stayed true to my stance. I was... no I AM a strong Alpha of My Pack.
“It seems the Offering is confused,” the Rouge Leader said smoothly and stepped forward, “This is a friendly visit.”
“Leave now or you will force me to bare my Fangs,” I said not showing a hint of nervousness or fear in my words or body.
“Why don’t we show the little Omega-Pup some proper manners on how to Please their Alpha?” The Rouge Leader said and an awful stench rose from him. I remain strong and the Alpha’s behind me growled. I flicked my tail for silence and they quieted down. I took a step forward and growled deeply. The Rouge Leader took a step back shocked then got rid of the emotion. “You are no Omega-Pup, what is the meaning of this!”
“You were warned Rouge,” I growled as I took another step forward. The Rouge Leader stepped back until they were nearly tripping on themselves. “State your business.”
“Who are you! You can’t trick us! You’re no Peace Offering!” The Rouge Leader found their paws and walked up to me then stepped back when I refused to move. The Rouge Leader growled and suddenly more showed up. I flicked my tail and Coach and Alpha Snow howled. Seven rushed forward and stood behind my two Beta’s growling.
“I am Alpha Angel, you are threatening My Pack. Those who threaten My Pack will feel my fangs in their throat!” I growled baring my Fangs my eyes never leaving theirs as they backed up and suddenly they howled again.
Rouge Leader charged towards me and I braced myself against their push. They fell to the ground in a huff and daze. The Rouge Leader quickly got their paws under them and it was my turn. I shot forward and quickly tossed them down. They slipped through my hold and we were soon met with Fang and Claw as we tried to get the upper hand.
A few moments into our fight I knocked him down and grabbed his scruff and shook him hard to daze him. I let him go when a wolf bumped into me and I was going to grab that wolf but the Rouge Leader kicked me.
Growling we started to circle each other to gain back our breath. His teeth on my skin were starting to sting and I can only imagine how mine felt for him. I growled hoping to get them to charge so I can toss them down and hold them there.
It didn’t work.
So my next move was to charge myself and strike down when they charged me.
They fell for it and stumbled forward and before I can pin them down they stood and charged at me again with no thoughts behind the attack.
My practice with the other Alpha’s made me have a cool head, I met their charge with my fangs at their throat and held them down with force. I remained unmovable even when another wolf slammed into me. I smelled his fear and felt his struggle in body and the breath he took. I growled staring into his eyes and closed my jaws just a tiny bit to let him know that I’m serious.
The Rouge Leader finally went limp and after a moment of him not resisting I let him go.That was my mistake.
Rouge Leader turned to me fangs bared and grabbed my scruff and tried to drag me down. I grabbed his and pulled not caring if I lost a few patches of fur. I pulled him until he was on the ground again and I was about to place my paw on his neck until something slammed into me hard.
I was careless.
This mistake could...
Ki-
Two wolves shot forward and dropped the wolf and the wolf ran back behind the border with the rest of the Rouges. Before the Rouge Leader could escape I charged and grabbed his scruff and shook him down and held him down with my fangs and paw. It wasn’t until I smelled his fear that I lifted my paw but never let my fangs go. With as much strength as I could I swung the Rouge Leader around once and tossed him out of the Northern Waters border.
I returned to my stance as before and growled “Leave!”
The Rouge Leader shrank under my gaze and turned keeping himself low as he slowly walked away. I stepped forward with my left paw and gave a powerful howl that I’ve been holding back this whole time.
The sound of running and the scent of fear was left behind in that clearing.
I was the victor.
My pelt hurt and I felt weak. I finally let myself relax for a moment to gather myself for the walk back.
But before that I gave another powerful howl and this time My Pack joined me. Turning to them they looked battered and out of sorts as I was. “Good work, Alpha’s.”
The Alpha’s yipped at my praise and they started heading back to the Den with me trailing behind them.
“Did you see the look on that Alpha’s face when he saw that their leader fell after hitting Alpha Angel?” The wolves talked of the battle and what they saw.
“Yeah the so called Leader was then scared shitless when Alpha Angel howled!”“I never felt so alive!”
“We were so wrong about Alpha Angel being an Omega-Born! That is a true Alpha to follow if I ever saw one!”
“Once we’re back make sure to check in and get patched up,” I called over their boasting and praise. My attention never left the forest behind us even though my wounds were starting to make itself known. The Rouge Leader’s fangs and claws stung even though my wounds were already healed.
“Alpha Angel,” I looked up quickly immediately regreting my moment of weakness. “I am Delta Christopher, your performance earlier was nothing short of extraodinary. I look forward to guiding you.”
The Delta was gone and the wolves before me had turned at my growl earlier ready for another fight. Coach was the first to speak wagging his tail as he rushed at me.
“You didn’t tell me you applied for Delta!” Coach gently bumped my shoulder with his head. “That’s fantastic!”
“Alpha Rodger and I agreed to sign him up,” my Dad walked up with his soft look and his gently swishing tail. I never noticed how fragile he looked until now, actually I haven’t seen him in such a long time. I want to rush to him and bury myself in his soft looking fur, just before I could he stopped and lowered his head to me, “I trust you.”
My Dad walked back to the Den and I gave an order for the Alpha’s to go back to the Den as well. I heard the Alpha’s praising me to my Dad as they passed by and I watched as his tail never stopped swishing gently.
He stopped at the entrance as the other’s filed by again praising me and even bragging about me and my efforts. He sat down and waited for me to walk up to him, “Son, you have grown into a fine young wolf. I am proud of you, of who you’ve become. Continue to grow, continue chasing your dreams. Never let that spark go.”
“Dad,” I said softly for the first time in ages, he touched my head with his nose and I breathed in his scent.
The scent that was home.
Then he left going in the Den.
