Ethan nods, the staff member leaving him to go inform her manager. The manager tells her to inform Ethan of an interview today after school. Ethan agrees since he isn’t busy and leaves, smiling brightly at the staff. I have an interview, Ethan now happy all the way to school. Now I just need to tell Jack. 

At school Ethan does some of his school work, actually attempting to do work in other classes too today. Even though he is 2 years behind in work, he doesn’t understand a lot but he’s trying. He’s also sometimes asking for help, or the teacher notices and asks him if he needs help, then helping him. 

Finally it’s time for Jack’s class. He listened to the lesson, and waited patiently for when he was no longer teaching. Jack sat next to Ethan as usual to give him extra help. Ethan thought this was his time to tell him. 

Ethan: “Ja- I mean, Mr. Dias. There’s something I need to tell you.” 

Jack: “What’s up ?”

Ethan lowering his voice: “When you dropped me off today, I went into a pub that was looking for staff.”

Jack’s eyebrows rise: “Really ? What happened ?”

Ethan: “Well…I have an interview today after school.” 

Jack: “That’s great ! Oh…sorry” he apologises quietly “Didn’t mean to be loud.” 

Ethan: “No, it’s okay.” A bright smile plastered on his face, giggling at Jack’s excitement. 

Jack: “I don’t want to ruin the mood or whatever but since I’m ‘Mr. Dias’ right now, we need to do your work.” 

Ethan chuckles: “Okay ‘sir’” 

Jack nudges Ethan playfully “I’ll sir you” both of them laughing, then getting to the work that needs to be done. The class goes by really fast with Jack helping Ethan but them also chatting, like friends or classmates would. They seem to be getting closer and not realising, they both like the feeling of being in each other’s company. 

Since Jack’s class was the last class, Jack asks for Ethan to stay back. After all the others left, he handed him a spare key to his house and wishes him good luck on his interview. Jack has to stay later like any other teacher, to prepare for his classes the next morning. 

“I should be home for dinner, so I’ll make us both something. I might nip into a shop on the way home to get dinner for tonight.” Ethan nods, leaving with a wave.
