Blood so much blood. It was all over Markus’s coat. It was all over his hands, his face. But it wasn’t his. It was Simon’s blood. The blood of his friend, colleague and lover. There was a throbbing pain in Markus’s heart as he held Simon’s lifeless body, his LED was red and his eyes were glazed over and dim. “No, No, No!” Markus yelled, he sobbed. “Come back to me, Si.” He whimpered, touching Simon’s unmoving face. He felt someone shaking him, but when he looked around, there was no one there.
Markus awoke, jolting up, his LED spinning red, he was covered in sweat, he looked over and saw Simon’s beautiful blue eyes staring at him, wide with concern. “Are you alright? You we’re crying and yelling my name. I assumed it wasn’t a pleasant dream?” Simon said, he moved closer to Markus and cupped his cheek. Markus flinched slightly, not fully convinced this was real. The heterochromatic blinked a few times before placing his hand ontop of Simon’s, their artificial skin retracting, revealing the white chassis underneath. Simon rubbed Markus’s cheek with his hand before pulling away, the artificial skin returning to both of their hands. Markus was silent, he just laid down. Simon laid back down and pulled the other android close, running his hand through Markus’s hair and whispering reassurances.
The green and blue eyed android eventually fell back into stasis, with a happy dream taking over the other. Everything was quiet. Everything was calm, and the android leader felt safe. Loved. At home. That bad dream slowly leaving his memory.
