*Hand to Hand to Weapons*

That fight… was hard. I hope I got some good points for it though. Amaris is a good fighter, an exceptional one than the others I fought. The next portion of the fight is with weapons. I looked through the array of weapons on the rack. I was trained how to use swords when I was a teen, but it was too much energy to put into it. These weapons looked too heavy and never caught my eye until I saw… a rapier. I have used a rapier once before and it felt right for me to use. As I picked it up, it felt well weighted for me and I’m quick with this weapon. This is my choice of weapon to fight with. I’m ready.

*Finale: Sui*

I won by a landslide with the weapons portion, now we’re using our Sui. Amaris has been firing water projectiles at my water barrier; he didn’t look tired at all. I had to think of what to do because I was starting to get exhausted from defending, then it hit me. I decided to make the barrier into a well sized shield and started firing back at him. Out of nowhere, a water beam was coming my way. I had to quickly think and decided to use my remaining water to form around my hands. When the beam hit me, I used my hands to absorb it with mine. It was a tremendous amount of water he fired at me; it was draining me as I absorbed it. But I had to endure what he threw at me. When I saw he was done, I threw all that water back as a more concentrated hydro beam at him. I used all I had on him, I didn’t know if he was standing or not. As I ended the beam, I felt my legs start to buckle and looked to Amaris. His legs were buckling as well. Before I was about to fall, Amaris did before me; the audience erupted in cheering which surprised me out of my focus on Amaris. In the crowd, I saw my family which made me shed tears. Did… did I win? I don’t know if I really did, but by Alpha, it feels like I did. A smile formed on my face as the joyful tears kept flowing.

All the points were tallied up by the Safekeeps. Queen Furia was standing between me and Amaris; ready to announce who will be the new Safekeep of Elem’s Water.

“On behalf of the land of Haliae, Elem and the power vested in me, I announce the new Safekeep of Water to be…”

I closed my eyes and prayed to Alpha. The moments of silence felt like long minutes as I waited for a name.

“…Oma Warrens!”

I opened my eyes in shock as I looked at her.

“Congratulations. Ahead by 5 points, you are the new Safekeep of Water.” She stated.

The tears of joy flowed again. My father, mother, Jos, and Amira ran toward me and embraced me. Amaris walked towards me and shook my hand.

“That was a good fight, Ms. Warrens.” He stated.

“Please. Call me Oma. You’re one hell of a fighter, Amaris. If you want, I can make you a second in command if you have nothing else.”

“I’d be honored.” Amaris replied and smiled.

*Final Day- Ceremony*

So, my family, the Safekeeps, the Queen, her parents, and I were in the courtyard of Haliae Temple. I was in the middle of the courtyard which I had to choose a weapon that would be suitable for me. I saw a rapier; I chose it and called it Siren’s Heart. The name to summon it is:

“Kokoro!” I shouted.

The rapier disappeared from the rack to my right hand. It then turned to water, absorbing into me. Next, I was to choose one or two aquatic creatures to be my partner or partners. All the creatures appeared before me as giants and made of water and ice. There were two creatures that caught my eye. One looked like a blue skinned siren with long red hair with scales coving her areas. The second wore a white and blue trimmed kimono with long black hair; her skin was pale with ice falling from her kimono. Choosing the two, I extended my arms to them and called their names.

“Nix. Yuki. Come unto me.” I commanded.

Both entities surrounded me; absorbing into me and giving me their power, which felt uneasy as it happened. After that was done, Queen Furia walked toward me with a jar containing a floating frozen glistening tear drop that is the size of my palm.

“This is the heart of Haliae. It is named Halaeis. He must stay in the temple. As a Safekeep and your solemn oath, you must claim it and devote yourself to protect him.” She said to me.

The queen opened the jar for and held the tear drop. I put my hands on the object.

“Halaeis. I, Oma Warrens, native of Haliae, come before you as the new Safekeep of Elem’s Water and a protector for the sake of Elem. I give you my oath to purify the water of our land. Under our matriarch, Queen Furia Nyle, flow through me for her and I will flow through you.”

The tear drop began to glow as it began to absorb my essence. I didn’t feel pain, but it made feel tired after it was done. The queen smiled at me.  

“Congratulations. You are now the true Safekeep of Water.” She spoke.

*Three Months Later*

I’m in the Haliae Temple making sure everything is in order for my land and others throughout Elem. Halaeis stays purified and hydrated with my Sui. He can survive without it for two years, but I decide to hydrate him every six months. I was informed that if I did not purify and hydrate after the two years is up, Halaeis would evaporate and Haliae’s water would dry up; making us look like a desert and nothing growing until a new heart and a new Safekeep comes in. I’m sure that’s what Hanchia was doing as well during her time as Safekeep. Makes me upset thinking about it. The law I’ve issued is Haliae gives 50% of its resources to the other lands: Elienta gets 20%, Oreads and Satori gets 10%, and Pamola and Alpine gets 5%. I was thinking about changing it, but there have been no issues or complaints. When Hanchia was in control, she held 75% of our resources. 5% was given to the other lands while 10% was given to us Haliaens; she had 65% for herself. With me, I gave 25% to my people and I have the other 25. My people are happy with it and I’m glad. My family gets to visit me along with my daughter. I promised Amaris he’d be my second in command and he is. But… something doesn’t feel right. As I’m holding Amira, I’m looking out my window in Elienta’s direction. Something’s going on over there. Someone walks up to me. It’s Amaris.

“Lady Oma. We have a problem!” He spoke.

“What is it?!” I asked.

“I’ve received word that Queen Furia is in trouble in Nora, Elienta. All the Safekeeps are there, but word has been out that their lands are under attack as well. We’re next.”

I glared at him with shock and looked to my daughter; I gave her to Amaris.

“Gather some men to get my family to a secure location and get some of them into Koro to warn the people to stay indoors immediately. You’re in charge while I’m gone. Protect the temple. I’m going to Nora right now.”

“Yes, milady.”

I looked to my daughter who had a scared look on her face; I had to calm my demeanor.

“Don’t be scared. Mommy is going to make the bad people go away. Amaris and these men will protect you, Papa, and Nana. Okay?”

She nodded. I kissed her forehead.

“I love you, Amira-Belle. You be a good girl.”

She nodded her head and started to shed tears. Amaris walked her away while I walked to the stairs and looked to a few guards.

“Sound the alarm for the people. I’m going to Elienta to help our majesty.”

“Yes, milady.” One of my guard said.

I went to the stairs going down all the way to the antechamber where Haleais is located. I locked the antechamber door with my Sui with the help of both Nix and Yuki. I looked to Haleais.

“Haleais. Whatever happens, these doors will stay closed until I get back. Wait for me, okay? Pray for Alpha to watch over us and Elem as a whole. See you soon.”

I raised my arm.

“Kokoro!”

I summoned my rapier and cut open a rift to lead me to the castle.
