"33" he said.

"… that's the number of ladybugs I'm going to put across your face."

Ladybugs? Those harmless creatures? He tied me up and threaten me with ladybugs? The little bugs that pee in your hand? He must think that I'm afraid of them. There's no way he can cause me to confess my guilt by torturing me with ladybugs.

 The man left the room for about 10 minutes and came back with a large box filled with exactly 33 ladybugs.

He opened a hatch on the box, put some plastic around it, and then placed the box around my head. The box was mostly transparent albeit slightly distorted. There were small holes everywhere, allowing me to breathe with ease but they were too small for any of the bugs to escape. I sat there for about 10 minuets believing to be totally unharmed, until I felt a small burning sensation around my ear.

“Ah! Ahh! Ah! WHAT THE HELL!” , I screamed.

The man turned to me and laughed, "Let me guess… you thought ladybugs are harmless? That all they do is "pee" into children's hand. Well let me tell you a little secret that "pee" isn't urine. It’s stomach acid. They spit it out when they are afraid or when they're about to eat. It won't harm you in small amounts but if you can get just enough of it you could melt the meat off a bone. And the ladybugs around these parts are omnivorous."

 I couldn’t believe it. My head felt like it was burning! First it was scattered small areas, but soon the sensation spread like a wild fire. Gradually getting worse over time. Eventually even some of it got into my eyes. I started to scream.

He left the room and came back with two boxes. One of which, he sat down on the floor. I didn’t know their contents but I soon found out. He  opened a small door that was above my head and poured even more ladybugs into the box and quickly slammed it shut. Then he grabbed the other box cackled, "Got to make sure my babies get something to eat." He then poured other insects and dried plants on top of my head. At first everything was calm, but then all the ladybugs started running after the food as if they were starving. As they ate more and more, acid got across my face, head, and neck. It was complete agony. When the police finally arrived and saved me from my captivity it was almost too late…

I was missing most of the skin across my face. Some of my muscles were even bear. And at the very top of my head there was nothing but bone. The only thing I have left are my lips and my eyelids. And even those are frail and thin.

Sometimes I don't want to close my eyes, because when I do, I see that memory all over again.
