I take off my hood, glancing around the room.

There's a noisy group of students, but only one stands out to me.

Its Mikah.

Mikah Williams.

There's nothing to not like about him. He's 6'4, he has good grades, and oh god... his looks. His eyes are a mix of green, teal, and some bright blue. He is stunning, I can never take my eyes off him.

"Kia. Kai? Kai!!"

I flinch, looking away from him. I rub the back of my neck upon realizing the teacher was calling my name. 

I hear a few people laughing and I gulp. "Yes sir..?"

"I asked you a question." Mr. Salumn rubbed his temples, sighing. "What's the answer to question 3?" He would point at the whiteboard.

Oh shit... I gulp again. After reading the problem I mumble an answer.

"I couldn't hear you, speak louder."

I can tell he's getting upset. I look around the room and my eyes land on Mikah. He holds up 8 eight fingers and smiles at me.

My cheeks get hot and I nod a quick thanks. 

I look back at the teacher. "Eight!"

"Correct."

-- An hour later --

Mr. Salumn looked up when the bell rang.

"Don't forget class, there's a test on Thursday!"

I get up and neatly put my things into my bag. I throw it over my shoulder and exit the classroom quickly.

I walk through the hallways that are already bustling with students trying to get to their next class.

I take out my AirPods and put them in. I press shuffle on my playlist and I feel a sense of relief as the sounds around me die out. 

I walk up to my locker, quickly putting in the combo. I set my bag inside, only taking out what I need.

When I feel a sudden pair of arms wrap around me, I squeal, surprise and shock pulsing through me. But when my 'attacker' let's go, I see that's it, my friend. I quickly take out my headphones and shove them into my pocket.

"You jerk!" I give Ivory a playful shove and he just laughs at me.

I roll my eyes and shake my head.

"You squeal like a little girl." He laughs, patting my shoulder.

"Oh shut up!" I push him again and he just wraps his arms around me again, but this time it's just a hug. I chuckle and hug him back. 

"Oh! Guess what I got us." Ivory grins at me.

"Hmm?" 

He raises up his hand, and in his hand, are two tickets to the concert that's on Friday.

I gasp. "no way!!" I throw my hands over my mouth, shocked.

I hug him tightly and he pats my back. "I can't believe it!" I say once I step back.

"I know you really want to go... sooooo." He waves the tickets again and grins.

"Thank you, Ivory. You're awesome!"
"I know."
