I left the back room and walk over to an open cash register.

"Hello! What can I get for you today?" I flashed a friendly smile, quickly typing in the person's order as they spoke.

I looked down at the kid standing next to them, the kid seemed around 4 years old.

I grabbed a sticker and held it out to the child, "want a sticker kiddo?"

The child smiled at me and took it. I looked back up to the adult. "Is that all for you guys?"

"It is."

"Alrighty, your total is $12.37." 

Once they paid and walked away to go sit, I looked at the customer standing in front of the counter.

It was him... "What can I get for you?" It was hard to keep a straight face.

"Oooh... I'm not sure. Surprise me, Kai."

I gulped hard, I'm sure he just read from my name tag... 

"Of course, right away."

I quickly turn around to go make the order. I'll just give him what I normally get.

Once I had finished, I pressed on the lid and walked over to the opposite counter.

"Mikah!" I call out his name, and soon enough, he comes over.

As I hand him his drink, his fingers brush mine.

We make eye contact... but then he turns away.

I then notice when he leaves the cafe, he's with his friends.

"Kai, come on! We've got drinks to make."

"Coming!" I call, quickly turning around and heading over to the bar.

I sigh as I enter the back room, taking off my apron and hanging it on a silver hook. I run my hands through my hair and take a small glance at myself in the mirror.

I take my phone out from the back pocket of my jeans and quickly skim through some notifications that I had missed while working.

"I'm heading out, bye guys!" Once saying goodbye to my co-workers, I left through the main doors to the cafe.

I unlock my car and hop in, starting it. I place my hands on the steering wheel and sigh, resting my head on my hands.

I lift my head back up and unlock my phone. I scroll through social media, checking my friends' posts. My phone dings when I get a notification. I gasp softly and my eyes widen.
