“...feathers?” Emma asked, looking out her window in confusion. Sure, it was a lovely sight, but why in the world was it raining feathers? All across town, everyone was looking outside and wondering what was going on. Robbie played with the feathers, and Hastur seemed to be the only one who was unfazed. In fact, he actually seemed to be happy. “What are you smiling about?” Mike asked, who happened to be passing by the god. “Hm?” he turned to Mike, looking at him with his many eyes. “You smile if you’re happy, no?” Mike said, waiting to cross the street with him. “Well, let's just say… I heard some good news today,” he said mysteriously, leaving Mike to think with the feathers as he disappeared.
While this was happening, at the borders of town, a wolf sat, scratching himself. If the wolf had a bigger brain, though, he probably would have wondered where the small group of people suddenly appeared from, rather than jogging over for scratches. “What a cute wolf,” the white and gold boy said, bending down and giving the wolf a hug. “Hm?” the silver one said, which the wolf ignored, basking in the attention of the first human. The silver boy held out his hand, catching a feather that was colored just like him. “My… feathers?” he wondered.
The wolf turned his head when he heard someone chuckle, and he saw an old yet elegant man pat the silver human, who, coincidentally, had white hair on his head the same color as the wolf’s fur. They even both had blue colorings on themselves. “Hey Joseph, this wolf looks like you,” a woman with black hair and a long red dress said. She giggled, then patted the wolf on the head. “I wish we could keep it,” the first boy said, the one that gave amazing scratches. “He could belong to someone,” a white-haired woman said. The wolf probably should’ve questioned the floating yellow ring atop her head, but just then Silver Boy gave him an extra long scratch, and he instantly forgot what he was going to say.
‘Back at home,’ Michiko thought, with a smile. She looked to her side, where Eli and Aesop were still having that conversation. On her other side, the others were taking turns riding Yidhra, who was smiling and laughing genuinely. Michiko couldn’t remember the last time she saw that. ‘Maybe it’s better this way,’ she thought, thinking back on Yidhra when she had all her memories. Michiko suddenly flinched, feeling something fall onto her head. “Eh?” She reached up and found her lover's hand there, resting on her hair. She smiled, holding the gentle arm stretching between them.
“Waah! Feathers are fun!~” someone shouted up ahead. Everyone looked over, seeing Robbie jumping around and catching feathers wherever he could. ‘How cute,’ Emily thought, giggling. Helena bent down, feeling the floor until she found a feather. She smiled, feeling the smoothness of it. “Hey, that looks fun!” Yidhra exclaimed, running over to Robbie to play as well, Murro close behind. Michiko was overflowing with joy watching them play; it felt as if it were the end of a story.
