Osore turns to understand why he is trying to pass through the portal.
Hyaku is dashing closer and closer to the portal and the closer he gets the more sinister the aura pouring from the gate seems. He starts to sweat like crazy and it becomes hard for him to breathe. As he is about to touch the portal and escape the world, he jumps and pulls his hands away from it as he looks at the rest of the gate disappear.
“Ha…hahahahaha!! Hahahahahahahahaha!” Osore laughs in the background as Hyaku is on the ground pissed. He starts walking over to him
“Dammit! This was my chance. Why couldn’t I do it!” Screaming at himself, he turns to see Osore is getting closer
“Your subconsciousness stopped you from your stupidity.”
“Huh, what are you talking about?”
“Your subconsciousness is not as dumb as your mind you see. Your body was about to realize how dangerous it was just by getting close to it. I guess this proves that you're not all that crazy because if you did enter the portal you would have withered away in seconds after entering that world. Your body made the right move”
Hyaku’s eyes widen and start moving away from him since he continues to get closer to him.
“W-what do you want from me?”
“Tell me, why is it that you wish to leave this world? Isn’t it a good place to live in?”
“What are you talking about? A good place? This is more of a nightmare! You wouldn’t understand what it feels like to be trapped in a world with no one to talk to. A world that rejects your existence. A world that slowly steals away your hope. Shattering your hopes and dreams, running around in despair until you die by the world. Why wouldn’t I want to leave?!” Hyaku speaks with all of his heart and has a tear dropping from his face and Osore has a straight face, looking at him with no emotion and turns to his right.
“I see such sadness. It must have been tough for you so let me help you out”
A portal starts opening from the nothingness beside him and a white glow floods the area around him and he steps away from it. Hyaku gazes into it with his eyes beaming with a ray of hope and a sign of distrust.
“Y- e- h- W-what did you just do”, Hyaku says with an unsteady voice.
“It is what you desire, is it not? I have opened a portal to a place that is less terrifying than the last. It is what is called the Starlight Dimension. One of the purest dimensions that exist. Come now and enter it so you can be free”, he says smiling to Hyaku.
He looks at Osore with fear but walks toward him and the portal. Surprised that such a power exists that allows a person to create portals at will. He stands a few feet away from him and he looks at him.
“What’s with the shift in attitude? What are you planning?”, he says to Osore.
“Well, whatever I’m planning will all end the same way. Whether you enter the portal or not.”
Hyaku is still on guard because his energy is as ominous as the previous portal. He does not understand what is going on but looks toward the portal in front of him and his eyes widen. The amount of pure energy rushing through his skin feels like it’s healing him from head to toe.
As he is stunned by the coursing energy flooding him he is about to take a step until he senses something from the portal. A very faint sound that feels noxious. After hearing the sound its aura passes through the portal and grazzes him. Touches him like half his body had just been ripped apart.
“What’s the matter? Having second thoughts?” Osore says as he slowly closes the portal.
“You, where were you about to send me!?”
“I told you, did I not? Whatever my plans are, it is all gonna end the same way.”
“H-How is it going to end?”
“With your death ofc”, he says while giggling.
The thunderstorm from above starts to get more wild and thunderbolts attack where Osore and Hyaku. One goes to attack Osore and he opens a portal above him and disappears. Hyaku looks at him with fear as Osore looks to be warming himself up.
“Why are you doing this?”
“It’s a rule that exists in our faction of the demon race. I hold nothing against you my friend but regardless of what happens beyond this point, your life will end so I’m doing you a favor by ending your life here, don’t you think?” Osore says this as he is walking up to him with a smile on his face.
“I see, so that’s how it works does it? It seems you can’t trust anyone, since ultimately they want to kill you…is that right?” Hyaku says looking up to Osore with a straight face.
“Never trust anyone. They will always have ulterior motives like myself.”
“I understand…I will never trust anyone again”, Hyaku says in his thoughts.
“Tell me, what is your name?”
“My name…? My name is Hyaku. That is all I remember of myself.”
“I see, that is your only piece of identity. My name is Osore, it was a pleasure to meet a human like you. This is farewell”, he says as he gathers dark energy to his hands and goes to punch him in the face.
Somewhere in the white void he had previously been is slowly turning darker. The flow of energy that exists in this place is becoming more still. Hyaku stands in the middle of nowhere and is looking at a reflection(mirror) of himself.
“Trust is a word that should be engraved within you. Words of another are not supposed to be taken lightly”, the reflection of him says.
He is utterly speechless as he stares at his reflection. Stunned and shocked, doing nothing but listen to it.
“So what were you gonna do there, give up? Why give up? Is it because of what that thing said to you? What did you not understand the words he said to you?” His reflection looks mad and Hyaku comes to a realization.
“Never trust anyone. Foolish human, falling so far. I can’t believe this is what has become of you. Wake up from this delusion and try to hear the words of your heart. When you're cornered, you never back down from a fight even if it means death. Face the depths of the netherworlds with everything you’ve got. Or, does it not apply to you, Hyaku?”
Hyaku is a bit moved by his way of words and the void slowly deteriorates and he returns to where Osore is launching his fist at him and quickly moves and kicks him, blasting him away.
“Well, If I’m going down, I better be going down with a fight to make up for my suffering. Don’t you think Osore?” He smiles at Osore, who looks genuinely happy that he got back up.
“Very well then Hyaku. Show me what you’ve got!
