Chapter 19 (Edited): Let's Play A Game

Chapter 19 (Edited): Let's Play A Game

Apr 04, 2022

November 3, 2022

As Ramon suggested, we all took a seat at the table. But we didn’t have anything else to say to each other.

My sentiments were shared when Eloise said, “I thought everything was settled. Does anybody has anything else to say?”

In response, Ramon said, “I thought that since our issues are resolved, why don’t we play a game to strengthen our bonds.”

“What do you suggest we play?” Maki questioned.

“Hmm…I know we are all adults but we can play hide and seek. I always wanted to try playing it in a big building and the losers can pay for lunch,” Ramon suggested.

“Okay, but how far could we go?” Anais questioned.

“Let’s stick to this floor and the fifth floor. Let’s play rock, paper, scissors to decide who is who. Those hiding have 10 minutes to hide, and the others would have to find them in 20 minutes.”

Ramon and I ended up losing, so we had to go look for the others. It wasn’t hard to catch Anais, Eloise, and Nova. Anais hid under a table, Eloise hid in a bathroom stall, and Nova hid behind a vending machine in the cafeteria. However, we couldn’t find Maki.

“C’mon, Anais, give us a hint of where he is,” Ramon said as he tried to coax her.

Crossing her arms, Anais said, “Nope, there is no rule that I have to give you two a hint, and I won’t.

Time was ticking, and Ramon and I began looking for Maki once again. I got tired and was now leaning on a pillar to catch my breath when I heard a boo that made me yelp. The boo ended up being from Maki, who was hiding behind the pillar.

“Dude, you freaking scared me.”

“Sorry about that, but you are out of time.”

“Dude, you freaking scared me.”

“Sorry about that, but you are out of time.”

Maki was right and Ramon and I were indeed out of time and had to pay for lunch. Despite losing, it was pretty fun, and we might do it again.

With the continuing pandemic, emotions such as stress, fear, and uncertainty have only amplified. Just ask Minerva Ramirez, an introverted fourth-year college student who is returning to in-person classes for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. Unfortunately, her stress triples when she finds out that she was assigned to a large group for a project worth 35% percent of her grade for one of her courses. Will it be as dreadful as she assumes, or is she in for a surprise?

Warning: Beware this novel will contain mature language and go into mature/serious topics. I will put a warning at the beginning of each mature chapter.
