After his final paper, Yang Ge's heart grew heavy, his feet dragged down the hall where he saw papers and books torn to pieces. Yang Ge knew what those meant, this was how students like him celebrated leaving high school but sadly that symbolism made Yang Ge want to cry. Yang Ge's head began to pound and he could tell that the stress and pressure from writing one of the world's hardest exams was getting to him. Failure was the last thing on his mind but Yang Ge could sense the dreadful feeling came from knowing that there was that slightest chance that he could end up on the other side of success.
It wasn't surprising, going by his disastrous first exam and the last paper, Yang Ge knew that only by a twist of fate will he be spared from having to retake the entire exam from scratch. Yang Ge walked through the crazy mess and he could hear some of the students shouting from outside.
"Can you believe that?! It's finally over! I can sleep till kingdom come!"
"I'm planning a trip with my family to somewhere special."
"Me too."
"There is a music festival coming up, is anyone going?!"
"YES!!!!"
When Yang Ge came out of the school building, he eyed the noisy youths when he saw the girls had their hair down and the guys flew their shirts in defiance as though to declare that their days of being terrorized by the National College Entrance Exam was over and done with. They were all jumping from one foot to another unaware that their happiness was making someone else miserable.
