Josh, one of our friends, came up to us.

"Are y'all coming to the beach party tonight?" He asked us.

"Of course we are going!" replied Missy.

"Yeah, we're going to hit the mall after work to find some outfits. You wanna come?" I asked Josh.

"Yeah, and I'll bring Alex too." he replied.

Alex is another one of our friends. He has also been my next door neighbor my whole life. Our moms are good friends and our dads have cookouts almost every weekend together. So he is always at my house or I'm at his. I could say that I have a little crush on him and have had for a while. The only person who knows I do is Missy. Alex and I are really close friends and I think I would like to keep it that way for now. I don't want anything to ruin our good friendship that we have already.

"Ok, we'll all meet up at the mall entrance at 4." Missy said.

"Ok", said Josh.

"I'll ride with you." I said to Missy.

Josh gave us fist bumps and walked off. After Missy and I got off work at 3:30, we changed and left for the mall. We met the boys at the entrance and went in together.

"We'll head to 365 first." Missy told us while pointing at the 365 store.

"Then we'll hit the Shoe Locker after." Alex said

We entered 365 and tried on some outfits. Missy and I rated the guy's outfits, then they rated ours. We spent a good 45 minutes there getting outfits. Missy and I both got cute rompers. Hers was navy blue with white and mine was black and white. The boys got some nice jeans and American Eagle shirts. We then headed to the Shoe Locker. The boys got some new tennis shoes, while Missy and I got sandals to go with our rompers.

"Alex and I are going to head to the store and pick up some drinks for the party." Josh told us.

"Ok we'll get changed and meet you at the beach." I said to the boys

Missy and I went to her house to get ready. We helped each other with our makeup and hair. We left the house around 7 to go to the beach. When we go there, we saw Alex and Josh, along with some other of our friends, standing by our lifeguard chairs. We talked for a while.

"Jay," Missy said while tapping my arm, "Look."

I looked where she was pointing and saw something that would change my whole night around.
