Sora felt a burning pain in her hands and knees as she caught herself before hitting the ground. The only danger was the bike falling back down on her. Sora's bike didn't fall on her, but once Sora fell to the ground, the bike landed back on its wheels and slowly leaned to the side, falling on its handles. Sora breathed heavily, thinking, I'm going through too much trouble just for either a power I already have or a new pet. Sora picked herself up, knowing she couldn't give up when she was so close and left the bike behind as she headed into the golden light. Sora brushed her pain off and lightly limbed into the opening. Once she reached the light, she was greeted by a giant willow tree growing on a small island surrounded by a small river. Stepping stones led her closer to the tree. Sora felt her stomach curl and loop with anxiousness. She followed the stepping stones toward the tree, unable to look away. Every step Sora took, her stomach would curl more and more, making her unable to talk from anxiousness. Sora stepped up to the edge of her side of the land and looked down at the water. It rushed through the dip in the ground like a waterfall at the end of the river. Sora stepped back a couple of steps back, then ran toward the river and hopped over to the other side. So how does this work? Sora questioned herself while looking up at the tree's leaves to see if there was anything like a note. Maybe I have to lay down and... something; Sora was a little tired. She decided to lay down at the bottom of the trunk and accidentally fell asleep.
Sora woke up with stiff legs and arms. All of a sudden, everything looked bigger than before. The tree felt taller, the river sounded louder, and the wind didn't feel cold. Sora reached for the ground to push her way up, but she couldn't feel her hand. She looked down and saw a wing in place of her hands. Her legs were thinner and brittle. She recoiled her legs then sprung up, a little lightheaded. Once up, memories raced through her head. Why was Sora, all of a sudden, a bird? Sora looked back down at her blue jay wing and wondered if she really was a Shifter who Shifted into a blue jay. She began to flap her wings... which got her nowhere other than the mood of embarrassment. Suddenly, the wind picked up and rattled the trees around. Since Sora wasn't a human, she was swept up and taken by the fierce wind. Sora tried to keep her stance, but it was too late... The wind had already taken her into the deep part of the woods. Lost. Alone. Scared. But most importantly... Unable to fly.
