The Twilight Of The Requiem

Forging a Path Part 2

Forging a Path Part 2

Mar 29, 2022

I awoke after a sound sleep. Oho! I snored like a rock!

But, thankfully, there were no Beasts in this area! hehe. I was ready to stand up when I felt something creep on my legs...it was like a slim flexible small body slithering around my legs.

huh? Weird. I wonder what it is.

So, to see what that was, I zoomed my face towards my legs.

And just then, the thing slithering around my legs turns out to be a little Black snake with blue eyes. I also saw a layer of particularly delicate scale covering him, as well as a strange Blue stripe on his head that ran all the way to his tail.

Woah! It's very cute.

I patted his body softly as the snake swrilled in my palms and angled its head at me.

Then, as I smiled, he scurried over to me and licked my face with his small tongue.

So, after witnessing this little guy... This little snake reminds me of something my father said about snakes.

These snakes were classified as Turf snakes, and they were the lowest Magical beast in the Beast ranks. It is a common tiny beast that is usually not dangerous.

A fully developed Turf Snake is around twenty to thirty centimeters long and roughly the thickness of a finger. It would only be able to eat little insects.

In the Magic Beasts, there are S-rank, A-rank, B-rank, C-rank, D-ranks, E-rank, and finally the weak F-rank.

And, this little guy is obviously an F-rank..but...I can sense something different in him.

...

Well, I spent some time with it...like a couple of hours may be!

And then, we both got close as buddies, and I felt like having a friend beside me.

"Okay, black boy! Do you want to follow me?" With a smile, I asked the snake, as this guy is the first beast friend that I had made in this world.

I'm not sure...that...in this world, beasts can understand humans.

However, the snake shh-ed his tongue and moved his head twice, as if nodding at me.

Huh! What do you know!! This tiny boy actually understood what I was saying!

After all, the beasts of this world can understand humans.

Then, I got up and got ready for walking inside the forest, as I packed all my things.

Just when I was about to continue my journey,

The little snake's physique emanated a dazzling, golden radiance.

The little black snake seemed to alter shape, shielding my eyes from going blind.

The glow encircling the snake faded as the golden light flickered so brightly, until it completely replaced the odd shape it was changing.

Slowly, the odd shape appeared in front of my eyes, as a divine glowing stone only appeared to be a smooth white rock with some Gold and Silver patterns—pretty, but ordinary, along with the snake's triangular head Flunging from within, with Shh-ing sound of its tongue pulling in and out.

"What the!..."

I was drawn inside the light as the snake's nose gently brushed against my chest, where my mana core resided, while the stone gradually covered it with a hexagonal mana coating.

The snake appeared to be inside an egg, which was progressively forming as the Golden light faded out.

I looked up, surprised, to see the Black Snake gradually transforming its blue eyes into violet. The snake's tongue pierced my core and wisped out a golden smoke that cracked led with amethyst sparkles as the blue stripe marks in his back faded and finally vanished.

I blinked, bewildered and surprised, and let out a short yelp. I just stared at him as he moved his head back, leaving a trail of blood from a hole in my worn-out shirt. My sternum bled, yet there was no wound when I ran my palm through it.

And then, I fell unconscious, as the black snake went inside the egg that sealed inside my back palm with a crest.
