I proceeded forward for the final stretch after a little respite on a comfortable patch of moss. On this adventure, I had come a long way.
It was now night, and the fog around me seemed to be thickening.
In this dreadful wilderness, my sense of orientation was practically non-existent. Enough that I may end myself going around in circles without even recognizing it.
"WOOOO"
Walking forward, suddenly the Green-Silver ring that my mother gave me on my fourth birthday, started to glow in a green radiance.
Given the green brilliance, I feel the ring is pointing a direction. As the radiance became denser and lesser, I chose to walk onward.
The brilliance suddenly became thick, and it continued to glow while being flickering as before.
Looking around, all that could be seen were clumps of trees and fog.
Confounded, I placed both of my palms on a tree without thinking. The brilliance grew greater and larger as the fog surrounding me was drawn into the same tree and what appeared was a massive wooden door held up on its own on the ground.
"Tap...Tap..."
I slowly walked towards the door.
And as it opened on its own with the ring's radiance, a doorway drew me inside.
"ooooo"
It was incredible, and I had never seen a portal in my former life!
....But there was something distinctive about me! huh! I couldn't figure out what exactly.
I rummaged in my bag as I carefully landed on my feet, arriving at our location, to ensure I still had the Little Black Snake's egg. It was only after confirming that it was still there, did I finally look up and take in the scene around me.
"Wowah!" As I gazed at the elven city, it appeared that I had teleported directly beyond the doors. What I saw in front of me were structures that appeared to be made of a jade-like material. These jade structures were so beautiful and smooth that they appeared to be cut from a single, massive stone.
The massive trees that entwined with the buildings made this site look even more awe-inspiring, infusing the entire city with a more distinct and organic atmosphere.
Looking above, I see houses erected on impossibly thick branches spreading from huge trunks even larger than the buildings with smoke billowing from their stacks.
Only the tiny sidewalks and the main road were paved with smooth stones, and the entire ground inside this city was covered in a rich field of soft moss. The dense canopy of branches that extended out from the trees shaded the majority of the city, yet there was a warm, luminous glow throughout the capital city courtesy to several floating spheres of light located in every corner and street.
While I remained in an Aw, still comprehending the scenery around me, the elven residences gathered and stood in front of me, perplexing me.
Suddenly, as the elven residences gathered in front of me, an unit of what appeared to be guards showed up out of nowhere.
These elven warriors emanated a dignified aura, all dressed in coordinated grey suits with green trimmings and a golden shoulder guard on their left shoulder.
These five guards all carried a long sword strapped to their waist.
I mentally observed that these guards emitted no apparent aura.
Well, mages naturally emit a barely perceptible aura from their bodies. The fact that I couldn't detect any mana leaking meant one of two things: either their mana cores were at a high enough level that I couldn't detect it, or they had enough control over their mana to prevent any leakage. In any case, it meant that these guys were as stunning as their clothes represented.
The guards glanced at me with a dignified gaze, as they suddenly knelt down in front of me in unison. "WELCOME, THE FIRST PRINCE!"
huh?
