Izuku woke up to an empty bed, but when he patted the space next to him and found it still warm, his panic lessened. He walked out of the bedroom still rubbing his eyes, not bothering to change out of his night clothes, he just shook his hair out, and made for the kitchen.
He could hear the sizzling of the pan [ ]. When he finally walked through the threshold izuku was met with one of his favorite sights. Eijirou, in nothing but his sweats, his hair up in a little bun, standing at the stove. He spun the spatula in his hands while he watched the pan. For a moment, Izuku just stood there watching. He loved seeing his boyfriend like this, comfortable in their shared home. It used to be a rare occurrence, with all they had gone through, it took a lot to get where they are. And now that they finally are, they won’t take it for granted.
Izuku moves away from the threshold and reaches to wrap his arms around Eijirou's waist, hugging him tightly. He just leaned there for a moment, burying his head into his neck. “ ‘morning..” he mumbled, his voice deep from sleep.
“Good morning,” Kirishima said with a smile, “Did you sleep well?”
Izuku just hummed against Eijirou’s neck, pressing little pecks against the skin there.
They stood there for a long while. Izuku was never fully functional in the mornings, and there was nothing he loved more than feeling the warmth of Eijirou against his skin first thing in the morning.
“I’m making tamago, do you wanna go wait at the counter while i finish?” Eijirou asked, as he turned around in Izuku’s hold. Izuku just looked up at him through his lashes.
“Babeeeeee, i have to move around,” eijirou groaned, “you cant puppy dog eyes your way out of this”
Izuku grinned, “Why not?”
The next thing he knew Eijirou's lips were on his own, in a soft kiss. “Go sit at the counter. We don’t have patrols until later today, we can cuddle after we eat.” He places another soft kiss on his lips, then on his nose, then uses those big hands he had placed on Izuku’s hips, to twist the smaller boy around, and nudge him over towards his seat.
Reluctantly, Izuku obliged, and went to sit at the counter. Busying himself with checking his phone notifications, before just leaning on his hands and watching Eijirou cook.
Izuku has always enjoyed watching people. It started out as just being interested in quirks. He was absolutely fascinated when he was a kid, and he still is now, though he does have a lot less time to keep notebooks on others. It does come in handy in a fight, because many people rely solely on their quirks, and once you know how they work, it can change the game completely.
However, his fascination with quirks slowly became a fascination with people in general. He started to notice people's behavior along with their quirks. He noticed it a lot in his classmates, how their emotions affected their quirks, how their quirks affected their emotions. He loved learning about it, and studying it. It became a new hyperfixation for him. Then it became a comfort.
Now, it makes him feel amazing when he can look at Eijirou in the kitchen like this, and know exactly how relaxed he is there with him. It’s a source of comfort. Though he does sometimes get carried away at times like this.
The first time it happened Eijirou was really confused, and Izuku was so embarrassed that he could barely get the words out to explain. Now, when Eijirou notices Izuku staring at him like this, he just smiles, because he knows how happy it makes izuku to know that he is content. That was when Izuku stopped hiding it around the house, he no longer felt the need to make himself look busy while he watched his boyfriend move around the house.
He must have gotten lost in thought, because he didn’t notice when Eijirou moved to place a plate in front of him, and sit beside him.
“Eat up,” he said before placing a kiss on the top of his head. “You awake yet?”
Izuku picked up his chopsticks, arranging his bite, while he responded, “Unfortunately.”
Eijirou chuckled.
~
The time had come where Eijirou had to actually get up off the couch and go out for patrol. Needless to say, it took a lot of willpower. The last thing he wants to do is uproot Izuku who was content laying on his chest, watching tv and scrolling through his phone.
Eijirou usually patrols earlier in the day, dealing with petty crimes, like shoplifting, and purse snatchers. He’s got a different image than izuku. Eijirou is more of a close to home type of hero, who makes people feel safe close to home. The kind of hero who makes parents comfortable letting their children out alone during the day.
Izuku, however, patrols more at night time, cause he’s the one who deals with the big things. Not that Eijirou doesn’t, but Izuku tends to lean more towards stopping organizations and syndicates and the ‘Big Bads’ internationally. He’s the one you see on the news as the ‘New Symbol of Piece.’ Eijirou is the one known as the ‘Friendly Neighborhood Hero’
This brought up a lot of schedule conflicts. They were lucky that they lived together, or they would never be able to see each other. These times in the mornings, when Izuku wasn’t traveling and before Eijirou had to go to work, was the most time they got to spend together.
It hurt Eijirou’s soul to do it, but he dropped a kiss onto Izuku’s head, “I need to get up now Bean” Izuku groaned and pushed himself up off of Eijirou so that he was hovering over him.
“I assume there’s no point in asking you to stay, cause it’s for the well being of humanity, and society as a whole, buttttt,” Izuku spoke leaning closer and closer to Eijirou’s lips as he talked, “I’ll miss you.” The last words were a whisper, before their lips pressed together. Izuku sighed into the kiss, complying when Eijirou’s tongue prodded at his bottom lip, opening to allow him entrance.
Izuku adjusted so that he was straddling Eijirou, whose large hands were now planted on Izuku’s hips. He dug his fingers in, knowing he would leave bruises, but didn’t care after hearing the moan that pulled out of the smaller boy.
Izuku ground his hips down onto Eijirou’s in response, nipping at his lower lip and drawing a groan from him, before moving down to press kisses to his jaw, and lower to his throat, biting and sucking at the skin, leaving marks in his wake.
Eijirou was in a deep state of conflict. On the one hand, he knows he has to go to work. On the other, he really, really, really, wants to let izuku ride him for hours right where they are.
Izuku kissed back up to is jaw, just below his ear, and whispered, “Make it quick.” then gets off, only pressing a quick goodbye kiss to Eijrou’s forehead, before walking down the hall. Most likely to the bedroom.
“Oh, you motherfu-”
~
“Dude, are you even listening to me?”
Eijirou turns his head to Denki, who was patrolling with his agency today. Apparently he had been talking. Oops.
“Uhh- Sorry man…” Eijirou blushes. He had some other things to think about.
“What were you so lost in thought about,” Denki asks with a smirk. “Anything to do with those hickeys you’re sporting?”
Eijirou’s eyes widened. The last thing he was thinking about earlier that morning was the marks possibly left behind. He was way too distracted for that. Now, it was registering, that his costume doesn’t have a shirt. “Um.. no?”
Denki barked out a laugh and threw his arm around Eijirou’s shoulder, despite their significant height difference. “Sure, buddy, sure. So do I get to know who the lucky guy is?”
Kirishima was about to respond when someone ran past him carrying a purse that obviously didn’t belong to him, at least judging by the woman chasing after him and shouting about it.
Instantly the hickeys were forgotten, as Denki and Eijirou entered ‘Hero Mode.’ They chased after the purse snatcher, gaining on him quickly. They were able to apprehend him pretty efficiently, but the rock-paper-scissors game they played revealed that he would be the one doing the paperwork for this one.
They parted with no goodbye, and only, “I’m gonna crash your crib for a movie night, and i’m bringing everyone else. You need to spill the tea my brother!” It’s pretty obvious Eijirou didn’t say that.
So after bringing the purse snatcher to the station, and filling out all the paperwork that was absolutely necessary, he dumped the rest on an intern and booked it home.
“Izuku!!” He shouted when he walked throught the door, “You left fucking hickeys, and Denki saw, and now everyone is coming over here for a movie night so that i can explain! You see what happens when we fuck around in the morning?!”
He doesn’t get a response, and is concerned, until he hears wheezing from the living room.
He just rolls his eyes and goes to the living room. “See you think it’s funny now, but what happens when Mina, Denki, and Sero inevitably interrogate us?”
“Do you not want them to know?” Izuku asks, as his laughter dies down.
“I mean, yeah, the only reason they don’t know is because its recent and we really haven’t had the time to tell them.”
“Exactly, then we just tell them the truth. We would have gotten an interrogation, hickeys or not.”
Eijirou sighs, plopping down on the couch next to izuku. “Yeah, you’re right.” He laughs. “I can’t believe I didn’t even notice these until Denki pointed them out.”
Izuku turns his head to look at Eijirou, “If they’re coming over for a movie night, we have to clean the apartment, you know.”
Eijirou groaned, “Fuck.”
