I opened my eyes. The sun was setting, and I was on top of the hill where the library once was. I held my head, that was a dream? Was it?
I stood up and sauntered my way to Jane's house.
By the time I made it back to Jane’s home it was dark, and the sky was hollow. I knocked on the door and it swung open with Jane in the doorframe. Jane raised her hand but froze. She took a deep breath, “Alan, do not leave the house unannounced. You scared me to death, I was worried.” I nodded and brushed past Jane. I felt bad for worrying her, but I was an adult I could take care of myself. I decided to head to my room. I covered myself with blankets and tried to sleep peacefully. I had a reoccurring nightmare. Every time I would close my eyes, I would see Ester and a figure in the doorframe of my room. It was a ghostly apparition that didn’t look like Esther. The sight of that in my nightmare sent shivers down my spine. I couldn’t sleep so I sat up in my bed the whole night.
In the morning I decided that I had to spend more time in that library.
