The storm clouds grumbled as Rayn filled her bucket with water to water the horses with. Rayn stood up with the water bucket and walked over to the stables. She set the bucket of water next to a stall that said, "Chip." Rayn unlocked the stall and opened it. Chip the horse was eating hay in the far corner of the stall. Rayn then picked up the water bucket and tied it onto a rope next to the bucket that held the hay that Chip was eating out of. Rayn then stroked Chip's tan neck with brown speckles.
"Isn't he a beauty?" A boy's voice said.
"Oh! Hi, Oliver!" Rayn said, turning around, startled by the red headed boy with brown eyes and freckles all on his cheeks and nose.
Oliver was the only one brother that Rayn trusted out of the Westbank family. He was kind, sweet, smart, brave, and strong. He was the only family member that Rayn had told about her being a lost princess. He took the news quite well. His other siblings and mother and father would have laughed and spit her face if she told them. So she kept that secret between her and Oliver.
"We just got him a few days ago," Oliver said with a smile. "He's very powerful and strong."
"He's also very sweet," Rayn said, walking out of Chip's stall. Rayn locked Chip's stall and then turned to Oliver. "Have you finished your chores?"
"Nope. You?" Oliver replied.
"No. I still have to grab the chicken eggs and then water the garden," Rayn said.
"I have to go fishing for dinner and then I'm done. Hey? Do you want to hangout after I'm finished fishing?" Oliver asked.
"I would love to, but I have to make sure all my chores are done first."
"Ok. See you later! Bye!" Oliver said, running back to the small stone house.
"Bye," Rayn said. Rayn then turned to leave the stables. She walked to the river and hopped on top of giant rocks to get across the river. Rayn's black hair bounced in her ponytail as she hopped.
A short while later, Rayn found the chicken coop with a fence around it. She unlocked the gate and stepped inside. Almost immediately, the chickens ran out of the coop to greet her. Rayn quickly swished around and locked the gate behind her. She then turned around to find curious chicken faces all around her.
"Ok. I'll feed you," Rayn said as if she knew what the chickens wanted. She reached into her apron tied around her waist and took out corn. She then threw them out to the chickens to eat. The chickens immediately ran to the piles of corn and began to eat.
"I have to act fast if I'm going to go get those chicken eggs," Rayn said to herself. She then ran to the coop and began filling her basket with every egg except one.
Rayn always did this. She made sure one was always not sold or eaten, so that it could hatch and turn into another chicken.
A little while later, Rayn had brought the eggs inside and was now in the garden watering the vegetables while humming to herself.
Rayn then heard a door open and close. She turned around to find Oliver with a small grin.
"Mind if I help you?" Oliver said with a smirk.
"Not at all," Rayn replied, smiling back.
Oliver then grabbed a watering can and walked over to Rayn. He then began watering the tomatoes with her.
"I'm guessing you're finished with your chores," Rayn said.
"You are correct, as usual," Oliver said with a smile looking at Rayn.
"Stop looking at me like that you dork," Rayn said teasingly, smiling.
"I can look at you however I want to. It's a free country," Oliver said smiling. He then set down his watering can and pulled Rayn into a hug.
Rayn giggled as Oliver kissed her on the cheek. Oliver then kissed her for real this time. Rayn felt her heart beating faster and faster as if at that very moment her heart was going to beat right out of her chest. Rayn kissed Oliver back letting her hands hold his head as his arms wrapped around her waist and lower back.
A few minutes later, rain trickled down and onto Oliver and Rayn. Rayn looked up at the sky and smiled.
"It's raining," Rayn said.
"More like Rayning," Oliver said.
Rayn giggled as rain soaked through her clothes, making them cling to her back. Oliver's clothes did the same.
"I think we should go inside before we get a cold,” Rayn said, looking at Oliver with a smile.
“Awww,” Oliver said, looking at Rayn with a frowny face.
“Come on,” Rayn said, letting go of Oliver and walking over to the gate to leave the garden. Oliver followed close behind.
“We are probably going to have to make a run for it,” Rayn said, opening the gate and letting Oliver get out before locking the gate behind them.
Oliver and Rayn ran through the rain up towards the house.
A black limo was parked at the house. Rayn recognized it. It was Sir Williams' limo.
“Oliver,” Rayn said.
“Yes?” Oliver answered.
“It’s Sir William. He has found me,” Rayn said, smiling from ear to ear. “He can take me home to my sisters.”
“That’s good, but wait. . .doesn’t that mean that you won’t see me anymore?” Oliver said.
“You're right. I guess I’ll just have to take you with me,” Rayn giggled.
Sir Williams walked up to Rayn.
“Hello Princess Rayn. Your sisters will be very happy to see you,” Sir Williams said.
“Have you found Wendy, Savannah, and Bethany?” Rayn asked, excitedly.
“Yes and now we have found you,” Sir Williams said. “I talked to Ms. Reynolds, she knows that you are Princess and I am taking you back to the castle. Are you ready to go?”
Rayn looked at Oliver. He nodded in agreement.
“Yes, but can Oliver come too?” Rayn asked.
“Yes,” Sir Williams said.
A few minutes later, Rayn and Oliver had said their goodbyes and were now in the limo on the way to the castle.
“I wonder how my sisters are?” Rayn asked.
“Your sister, Bethany, is getting married,” Sir Williams said.
“Really? What’s his name? What is he like?” Rayn asked, suddenly intrigued.
“By what I can tell he is very nice and kind. He also makes Princess Bethany very happy,” Sir Williams said.
“As long as she’s happy, I’m happy as well,” Rayn said.
“We are almost there,” Sir Williams said.
“Ok. Thank you for letting us know. I can’t believe I’m going to get to see my sisters again,” Rayn said, excitedly.
The limo then stopped in front of a big stone castle.
“We are here,” Sir Williams said.
