Drowning in her sadness she was unaware of time, passing hours on the spot, until she didn't notice being picked up and taken away. When she noticed she was in a completely different place, it looked like a home. Someone set her down on the table and it looked to be a man. He couldn't be over his fifties but looked drained and tired.
He grabbed the lamp wiping away the dirt, and Tsuru summoned out. Her form is large and the smoke is taking in the whole house, making herself known.
"I am the Genie Tsuru. I'll grant you an infinite number of wishes. So long as you never wish to extend your life." she looked down at the frightened man as he stepped back in shock of her appearance.
Noticing his fear she leaned down and spoke gently, "I won't hurt you... I'm here to make your wishes a reality."
The man looked at her swallowing hard, his hand shaking and replied, "My name is Bilal..." he looked at her in disbelief, "If what you say is true...then... I wish to be a king."
Tsuru eyed the man that wished to be king complying to his demands. Looking at her hand she questioned how to do it. Snapping her fingers and his wish was now reality, she stared at her hand a few seconds longer. The man's home was the first thing to change, vibrant colors appearing out of the bloom. The room became more than twice its size in mere instants.
The man's clothes transformed at a par with the colors presented matching in every way. But what stood out the most was the gold covered crown above his head with jewels shining like small stars.
She hurried outside to see what was left of the city. The homes of those around were gone and the castle was the only thing standing. The only houses near being at least a hundred feet away. Everyone in the area had been left homeless. All the faces that looked scared were perplexed at the building that appeared.
Her eyes traveled across the people, searching for her family. But in the midst of the crowd she couldn't see anyone she recognized, her eyes unable to locate her loved ones.
"So, I'm a real king?" Bilal asked as he contemplated the castle calmly walking outside where she was.
"Yes, what would you like next?" Tsuru questioned him, her eyes still wandering through the crowd.
"Before I make any more wishes I need you to answer some questions." Bilal said.
He walked back inside taking in his surroundings. Staring at the walls and decorations.
She followed him, forcing her eyes to stop searching, "What do you want me to answer?"
"I have infinite wishes, am I correct?" He questioned analyzing the situation, it's like he still couldn't believe what was just being handed to him.
Well who really could? You go from nothing to everything.
Tsuru floated besides him, "Yes."
"How long have genies existed?" His eyes followed her while leaning against the wall to stare out the window.
Her mind drifted on the question, even she wanted to know how many more had gone through this torture. How many were ripped from their families? "I don't know."
He raised an eyebrow at her, "Don't know?" He paused bringing a hand to his chin, "What do you mean you don't know?"
"I'm a new generation... that's what I think. I wasn't told how many were before me and the rest." She replied and looked out the same window, spotting a familiar face in the distance.
Akeem, he looked scared, and he was alone.
Bilal was quiet for a moment, "So, there are more of you?"
"Yes, Many in fact." Seeing her brother off in the distance brought her a sense of relief that he was alright. But knowing she didn't see anyone near him she knew worried her. Where was everyone else?
His interest grew on what she could possibly be staring so concentrated at, "What are you looking at?"
She looked away from her brother pondering on whether or not she should tell him the truth. Unsure if someone with the capabilities to do anything should be trusted with it.
She just met the man and he asked for something big... so she played it off, "Just looking around, this is the first wish anyone's asked of me."
"In that case, let us look around together." He didn't quite believe seeing the hesitance in her face, but followed her little game.
Together they looked through some halls and a few rooms. Every now and then banging would be heard in the distance, screams and yells followed each time. Until finally they stopped in place, the yells far too loud to ignore and the banging too close for comfort.
"Seems everyone is dying to know about this castle." He said, "I wish for guards."
One snap of her fingers and every hall, every door, and every corner they could see had a set of guards. Armored soldiers but not really people, they didn't have a face and seemed to stand still.
Lime statues they didn't even seem to breathe, "Um, shouldn't you tell the people something. Maybe it'll calm them down and they'll go away." Her voice coming out like a whisper, she wasn't concerned about everyone, only her brother who was out there and alone.
He thought of what she said and nodded, "I agree, I suppose they can all be gathered outside and have a proper announcement." He didn't really know where he was with all this.
Getting out to an open area, at a balcony while below them where still houses not far away. He looked down from the height seeing it all, "I wish for a garden where the people appear as well. I'll talk to them then."
And like all genie's she complied
Caron stared at Tsuru all through the dinner unaware that it wasn't her daughter, yet Allon didn't spare a glance. Oblivious to the glares Tsuru would burn into his skull. He would look endlessly at his plate thinking something unknown to any of them.
The silence coming to an end Allon speaking, "Aunt Caron, Evira and I will be going to my house quickly just gonna get something." He finally looked up from his plate speaking.
Caron looked over at him, cutting off her staring at Tsuru, "What are you getting? I sure hope it's something important, we barely got back from the hospital."
Allon looked at Tsuru momentarily, he had planned ahead and his answer came with no hesitation, "A board game. We should have some fun, all this worrying does no good to anyone."
She raised an eyebrow at what he said, "Alright, but be back quick, your parents haven't come back yet." Caron stood up from the table leaving her plate, "Remember Evira needs her rest."
