"Kenji! Give me back all of my stuff! I need it!" I yelled at my older and annoying brother Kenji as he ran around the lounge, swinging my bag of carefully packed camp supplies all around the room. "Kenji, I said give it back! Give it here right now!" I seethed, glaring as I rushed towards him, trying to reach my bag. He laughed, using one hand to push me away by the forehead, and using the other hand to hold my bag high above my head where I couldn't reach. "Kenji!" I yelled, slapping his hand away from my head. "Ok! Alright Kiara, here you go," He laughed as he threw my bag across the room.
"Oh, my days! You are so annoying!" I muttered under my breath as I stomped over to go retrieve my bag. I unzipped it and peered inside. All of my carefully packed supplies were mixed up and messy. Well, that was an hour of my time that's gone to waste. I heard footsteps and turned around to see my dad walking towards Kenji and me. What is it now? I thought, watching him whilst frowning. "Could you too keep it down and be quiet for once? I'm on a very important call with a Mantah Corp employee and I need to hear what he is saying!" He angrily told my brother and me, his voice slightly hushed as he covered the microphone on his phone.
"Sorry," I said, picking up my bag. "Sure dad," Kenji said with a small frown. "And the both of you should have your bags packed ready for tomorrow, we are leaving for camp at 7 am so you had better be ready. Understood?" Kenji and I nodded as our dad finally left us to go back to his study. "Well, I'm going to go fix the mess you made of my stuff," I said to Kenji, walking away and heading to my bedroom. "Ok, I should probably go pack my stuff too then," He replied, also walking to his own bedroom which was opposite mine. I walked into my room and put my bag on my bed. I sighed and took everything out.
I re-folded all of my clothes, pyjamas, and my onesie, before putting it all back into my bag neatly. I then got all of my bathroom supplies like my toothbrush and put those into a clear case before putting that away into my bag. I don't think I need to bring more than one pair of shoes though, but maybe a pair of boots would be good, I thought to myself, quickly getting a pair of boots and trainers and putting them away into my bag. 'Is there anything else I need?' I wondered, staring at what I had packed. I walked over to my desk and opened one of the draws to take out my VIP invite to Camp Cretaceous.
I opened up the letter and looked back at the list of supplies they said we needed. Ok, so I needed a first aid kit, a swimsuit, a pocket knife, sunscreen, a flashlight, and ropes for some reason? Maybe we are gonna need it for some sort of activity? Well, I don't have any ropes, but I have all the other stuff. I went around my room, grabbing all of the stuff I needed and neatly putting them inside my bag. As for the swimsuit, I have way too many of those. I went to my wardrobe and looked at the top for where I kept my collection of swimsuits. I don't want to bring something too expensive and have people stare.
But all of them are expensive. I sighed and began to sort for one to bring. Eventually, I picked my azure blue one-piece. It had a twisted strap design on the back and the same pattern around my navel. I put that in my bag then hung the back on my door. I then walked over to Kenji's room and knocked on his door three times. "You can come in," Kenji said. I walked into his messy and unorganized room and sat down on his bed. "What do you want?" He asked, watching me suspiciously. "Oh it's nothing, I was just wondering if you had any spare ropes?" He blinked and looked at me confusedly.
"Why would you need ropes? I have some, but how comes?" "Kenji, did you even read the invite Claire sent us?" I asked him, brow raised. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously and shook his head. "Erm, no, I couldn't really be bothered..." "Right, well I need some ropes because it was on the list so please could I?" I asked him, holding my hand out. He rolled his eyes and huffed annoyedly before standing up and rummaging through his chest of draws for a few moments until he found some rope. "There, happy?" He asked as he handed them over to me.
"Yeah, I'm happy now," I smiled, gladly taking the ropes from him. I left his room and went to go pack the ropes away into my bag. That was the last item I needed, so I'm all ready for tomorrow. I'm a little nervous, to say the least, because I haven't really had friends before. I mean, Gray and Zach Mitchell are my friends but I only see them during summer. And not this summer. Going to this adventure camp could be a chance to make some more real friends, and hopefully, some of them might live near me so I could go visit even after camp is over.
I got my headphones and connected them to my phone, where I opened Spotify and played my favourite playlist, closing my eyes and laying back in bed, relaxing. After a few hours of this peacefulness, someone yanked my headphones off my head and when I looked to see who it was, Kenji was standing about me, shaking his head and putting. "Well dear, sister, seems like your trying to stay up all night listening to your music. You'll end up waking up late and then dad will get annoyed!' He said, still shaking his head with his arms crossed.
"Oh well sorry for trying to relax Kenji. Hey, have you finished packing yet?" I asked him, yawning slightly. He dropped my headphones on my bed. "Surprisingly yes, have you?" He replied, sitting down on the edge of my bed. I nodded, I thought it would be obvious, I'm clearly the more organized sibling. "Alright, I'm going to head to bed now, so see you in the morning Kiara" Kenji got back up and started walking to the door. As he was leaving, I said, "Goodnight Kenji," Before he closed the door and I pulled up the covers, falling asleep and dreaming of tomorrow
