"THINK BEFORE YOU COPY OTHERS HARD WORK,"
The cherry blossom tree's petals fall like raindrops on the way, creating a breathtaking scene inside the Empress palace. The wind blows through the path bridge that connects to the garden pavilion, which is filled with scented flowers of various types.
A flower that adds beauty and vibrancy to a place full of uncertainty and heavy bearings. Is the only thing that made Empress Ren relax and remember that even though the world is full of unforgivable things, if you dig deeper inside, there is still a hidden beauty that can make you live happily and smile every day.
The Empress rushes across the wood lotus bridge inside her garden, only to be greeted by a fine youth full and yet tall and sturdy looking man inside.
Sitting on the chair with a carve design of a phoenix on its skin, sipping on a porcelain glass cup with warm tea inside, wearing a privileged and worth billions cloths.
Empress Ren came to a halt, her gaze fixed on the man inside her garden. Bringing the details of the person she cares about the most into this world.
His features, as well as his build, explained territoriality and superiority. But she knows deep down how gentle, considerate, lovable, and warm this man is.
Under the bridge, there's a deep pond and have various colors of lotus flowers ready to be plucked, while others are ready to be eaten and made into a stew. Empress Ren's favorite dish.
A simple dish that is commonly eaten by commoners and lower-class people who do not have much fortune in this world.
In this world, you have no control over where you are born or who your parents are. Your future was predetermined from the moment your mother carried you from her womb. She was born as a simple person, but she was destined to become the mother of the entire nation.
Her heart beat in blessing as she smiled, but her smile faded quickly as she remembered the passing time of herself to this world.
This world is truly full of surprises; you were blessed, and then you were devoured by many blessed until your life began to rot like a persimmon fruit.
If you were able to wake up today, consider it a blessing from above.
"Ha! Truly blissful indeed," Empress Ren mumbles between her silent sorrowful tones of voice, forgetting the presence of her attendants at her back, as she gazes away from the person inside the garden and up at the blue sky, finding comfort in the midst of her withering world.
"Your highness?" One of the palace ladies called out to her after sensing her minute absences. She heard her call and straightened up, beginning to walk further inside with the sound of light steps like flower petals.
"The Empress greets his highness," Empress Ren bowed and positioned herself appropriately.
The man flinches in surprise when he hears a woman's gentle and pleasing tone at his side. He hurriedly placed the cup on the table and stood in front of her, his eyes filled with warm affection, excitement, and relief.
"You've arrived, ahem! That is to say. The Emperor extends his greetings to his Empress."
The Empress raises her head and smiles at the man in front of her. The Emperor returned her smile while waving his left hand in front of his trusted eunuch, indicating for all the servants to step back ten meters and face back.
When everything is settled, all the servants receive his demand and do as they are told. He then took the Empress's right wrist in his grip and drew her into his embrace.
"I really miss you. A-Ren," his heart warmly expresses to the woman who returns his embrace.
"I miss you, too, A-Feng," the two love birds embrace for a second before moving on to other matters, facing each other in separate chairs as they sat in a comfortable position.
"How have you been? How are you feeling? How is your health? Have you been taking the medicine that you are supposed to take?" Emperor Feng asks, his eyes filled with concern and consideration as he looks straight at his wife.
Empress Ren takes the cup with warm tea inside, brings it closer to her lips, and takes a sip before answering her husband's worry question.
"Your Majesty does not need to be concerned about me. I've been fine," she replied, gracefully returning the cup to the table, then turning to face his husband with a genuine smile.
Her words are simple and straightforward, which left the others unsatisfied and skeptical.
"...A-Ren,"
Empress Ren could hear his whispered voice, which tinged with worry, sadness, and doubt, but she didn't mind. She knew her husband wanted to bring up the subject of her health again, but she didn't want to expand on it.
She doesn't want to have a bad day. Thinking about her pure health will be pointless for the rest of the day. She would rather think about what is going on right now than be drowned in sadness and bound by fears of being afflicted with an incurable illness.
Empress Ren's life was already in jeopardy when she arrived and became an empress in an unimaginable place, due to a lack of security in her palace when she first entered as an empress, two predators managed to enter and put her drinks a liquid medicine containing infertility and poison.
The medicine will not immediately react or cause the victim to show any effect; instead, it will spread inside your body like a virus, eating your healthy cells and slowing the function of your veins as well as your body.
The poison medicine will slowly creep inside your internal organs, until your brain and heart stop working. This type of medicine has a cure, but if the victim does not take the cure after taking such toxic medicine, the victim cannot be purified.
In the case of Empress Ren, it took them five months to discover her body problem. When they discover that she has been poisoned and that her body is already suffering. It's already too late.
The poisonous medicine had already spread throughout her body, rendering her incapable of carrying out her duties as a wife and empress. Every time she performs a strenuous task, her body breaks down and loses strength for three days.
And the only thing that can provide her with relief and heal her fatigue is the herbal medicine prescribed by the royal physician. To keep her internal stamina healthy at all costs and to strengthen it every day so that her life can still be extended beyond four months; after that, everything will be in God's hands.
So the emperor could only hope for a miracle and spend all of his time with his wife, savoring the bitterness of their fate together.
Empress Ren sensed the fear and loneliness of the person who still looked at him with adoration and warmth. She couldn't help but chuckle and take the other person's hand in hers, hoping to bring him some comfort.
"Let's not talk about me any further. Instead, let us talk about His Majesty. Why is his Majesty visiting my palace at such an early hour? Is his Majesty getting tired of being alone in his palace? " She made a light remark to brighten and divert her husband's attention.
To be continued.
