The next morning.

The child woke up, following his usual routine before leaving the apartment and going to the construction site.

While he was walking towards there, the man's words yesterday resounded in his head.

"You a medium? You talk as if you are going to die soon."

"Heh" the child laughed. Then he continued, "Dying now doesn't sound like a bad choice, though I won't be able to enjoy anything, I wouldn't suffer too."

...

The child checked in and entered the construction site, as usual, the man shouted again behind his back and both continued with their daily work.

But this time, the child wasn't bothered by the man's presence in the least. He atleast had someone to talk to.

A teen of his age couldn't bottle up their emotions for so long, they would be mentally exhausted to the point of ending their lives.

suddenly, the man asked a question, "So, what is a day in your life like?"

"Nothing much, just your usual orphan." the child replied.

"What about yours?" the child asked.

"I'm just a man trying to feed his family"

"You have a family?" the child said with a shocked voice.

"What, do I not look like a family man?" the man questioned.

"It's just that... Nevermind, so how's your family?" the child asked.

"They're okay, my wife is 4 months pregnant. So I'm just trying to make the ends meet both for her and my child." the man said.

"What about you?"

"Me? I'm just a sinful man. There is not much to worry about me." the man said in a regretting tone.

The child was going to ask him about his past, but then he remembered that It'd remind the man about his past which would sadden him even more, so he decided to not ask about it.

Every person had one thing they regretted throughout their entire lives, sad as it is, it was impossible to alter the past.

"Then what was your dream as a kid?" the child asked.

"I've always wanted to become someone who people can rely on, unfortunately that didn't workout." the man replied.

"I see, I meant about your dream job though." the child said.

"Ah.. My dream job huh." the man said with a awkward tone, then he added

"I believe it was being the strongest person alive." the man said.

"Strong as in?"

"Like the heroes or villains we see in comics, mostly supernatural stuff." the man said.

"Heh, that would be a nice world to live in." the child said.

"No, not really. What do you think will happen if you give a bunch of people supernatural powers?" the man asked.

"I don't know, ruling the world?" the child replied.

"Well yes, but too much of everything can be poisonus.

After a while, those people will get drunk on the power and the feeling of superiority achieved by that same power.

This will usually cause them to become tyrants who doesn't give a single care about others, you don't have to care about other strangers. But you have to make sure that your actions won't inflict unnecessary harm." the man said.

The child was quite impressed by the man's speech. Considering his usual attidue, the man spoke with an aura of sage during his speech.

"Then what should those with power do, abstain from their desires?" the child asked again.

"No, they can use their power freely. As long as they don't become slaves to their own power." the man said.

"Then how do you control power?" the child asked again.

"You simply don't." the man answered.

"What?" the child was confused.

"You simply become one with your power.

The power and the being that has it are born in the same body, though power doesn't possess consciousness as we do. It is aware of its existence to a certain extent.

If you don't become one with your power, the power will slowly take control of you and exploit your desires to achieve what it desires, what power usually desires is mostly destruction and ruin as it wants to run amok freely after being restrained by you during it's whole life." the man said.

"You know... You're quite the knowledgeable guy." the child said, with a look of awe and reverence in his eyes.

"Well, everyone has their own story. Sharing it with others can shape the other person's life alot." the man said.

"I understand" the child replied.

[The old man sure knows alot, now I'm even more curious about his past.]

"My past isn't something you'd like to know about" the man interrupted his thoughts, smirking.

"H-how did you-" the child replied in a shocked voice, his whole face red from embarrassment.

"It's quite clear looking at your face" the man laughed, then he continued

"Well, enough discussion let's get back to work."

"Right." the child agreed.

"Wanna bet on who'll finish the work first again?" the man asked, still laughing.

"No thanks, I learnt my lesson." the child replied with a stern tone, contrary to his tone, the child was smiling.

Both looked at each other and began laughing so hard and continued till they couldn't breathe.

This whole interaction amazed the child, to be honest, he wanted to take the man as his role model.

The man acted childish but he had his own share of suffering and was a modest person.

At the same time, while listening to the man, the child made sure to carefully observe the man's teachings and drill them deep into his mind."

Suddenly, a giant tremor shook the whole building.
