Glitched Out

Chapter 14.

Chapter 14.

Apr 13, 2022

Robyn was one of the closest people to my mom in my heart. They seemed so lovely and graceful like my mother had always seemed. They both were beautiful, youthful, and…independent. I felt what my father must have felt when he met my mother. They were 15 when they had met, though Robyn and I were two years apart. I met Robyn the same age my parents met. It had to be…faith. Their brown hair blowing in the wind as my mother’s did. The flower in their hair, twirling around in circles. I admired their natural beauty from a distance. It was the weird feeling of me losing my mother, it felt like she was never gone. Like my mother was right here in a flowing dress with dark brown hair, twirling around in circles. A big smile plastered on her face as her hair flowed in the wind. Flower in her hair. It felt like my mother was with me but recreated as Robyn. Robyn and my mother so much alike that they both valued the place in my heart.

“Come on, babe,” Robyn called to me, snapping me out of my thoughts. I continued to run to catch up with them. They grabbed my right arm and placed their head on my upper arm. “I wish this didn’t have to end,” they said. I looked to my left and acknowledged that we reached their house. “Yeah. Me too,” I muttered. We started to walk towards their house and stopped. They stopped me by moving their head off my arm. They placed their hands on my chest and kissed me on the cheek. “See you at orientation, Ash,” they said, removing their hands. “Meet me at the janitor closet?” I asked, grabbing one of their hands. They smiled. “Of course,” they said, slowly backing away. I watched as they walked to their house before walking home myself.

Being perceived as normal should have been good, right? Even though Ash would never be normal, he lived what was viewed as an average life. He was the really smart and attractive triplet. Everyone loved Ash. His life was pretty much perfect to everyone. Who would be perfect with the famous, billionaire playboy, his beautiful wife, and two extremely talented brothers as their family. The truth of him and his family would soon be spilled out to the public once his mother died after giving birth. His father, Malcolm, was always drunk and out late at night which left the triplets with the twins, Alex and Alexa. One day, Malcolm came home sober and with someone. Someone Ash was in school with. Now with her dating his only living parent, he has to listen to her like she is his parent. Maybe the power got to her head.

Ash isn’t a normal 18-year-old boy. He has what people would call an alter ego. Two different souls in the same body with the same problems. Glitching out.
