Folixpa is the word for magic in Erriblogan. All Irregiloes have a Folixpa. There are never two people with the exact same Folixpa alive at the same time, there are common and rare Folixpas, and they all have different strengths.
Each Folixpa is shared around so when someone dies their Folixpa variation is given to someone just being born. This has meant that it is relatively hard for some people to learn how to use their Folixpa and master it. Some Folixpas are also not possessed for lengthy amounts of time between users. For example, those Folixpas that are regarded as common show up in a new person up to a month after the last person to possess it dies. The combination Folixpas range from rare to extremely rare with possessors every 1,000+ years. The rarest Folixpas are not very well known because of this.
There can also be different variations in the strengths and abilities of each Folixpa. This means there could be a whole country full of people with just one type of Folixpa but no one can do all of the same things.
The Folixpa a person has is also planned ahead by their deity, Erri Elistor, so that the magic they get is something that is very useful for them and helps them live their life. So for example if anyone has something that actually makes it difficult to live like everyone else like being blind or deaf or are missing one or more limbs they will usually have a Folixpa manifest that enhances their other senses or can be used in a way to make living in their world more fair. This is the same for if they were born that way or if it happens much later in life.
That is only one way for a Folixpa to be chosen for people though. The second way is by what they would have chosen their career to be. If someone was going to be best suited and wanting to become a doctor of some sort they will usually have a Folixpa to match that interest. The third way for the Folixpa is just for it to have something to do with their hobby or the fourth way being random.
Folixpas usually manifest around their tenth year for the earliest all the way up to their twentieth. The manifestation process is different for each person as well, even when compared to other possessors of that variation so some people have their full power much quicker than others or it might be growing smoothly or come in bursts. This is therorised to be because they will not have full control so it growing over a few years is so they understand their magic better. But the main part of it is also because it will be too much for the children to handle if they get it all at once.
For combination Folixpas, those that are two or more variations of magic that work together, the manifestation may be sped up for each part so that it can all be there by the time the possessor is 20 or it will have the different parts come in at the same pace. This is also similar to how it is when someone just has multiple Folixpas that are not combinations. Having multiple is also not actually all that rare. Even as the population grows it doesn't become more rare as Erri had planned everything out just so which did actually mean sometimes the Folixpas didn't appear for much longer than they should have and not all were there from the start since the species needed to grow first.
All Folixpas have been catorgorised in two ways. The first way has only three categories and is more a way to clarify what some of the limitations of the individuals Folixpa are. The categories are explained below.
Delom: The possessor can destroy their element in some way.
Elist: The possessor can conjure their element into existence in some way.
Malgano: The possessor can change their element in some way.
The other type of categories are more like what sort of 'family' the magic belongs to. Below is a list of the families and their translation.
Boliga: Body
Corfic: Physics
Elud: (currently has no translation as I don't know what the Folixpas under it would be catorgorised as)
Erriblago: Elemental
Eulla: Molecular
Mineld: Mental
Neciveted: Detection
Pligum: Spirit
Strendor: Combination
Weviton: Ward
When I upload any Folixpas in the future I will say which it belongs to and also update this to include it. This list will also be added to when a magic is even just mentioned and they will have the translation too. The Folixpas that I make a whole page about will be ones that are more involved in what they actually are or are ones that someone asks a more indepth explaination for.
