The day is more relaxed than usual, I took care of it. Today I have nothing important to go to, so I intend to enjoy this time. I haven't seen Lilith and Rayzel for quite a while, the plan to move into the palace is still pending but it's some more time away. I think I will pay them a surprise visit.
"Amos, where are you headed?"
"Majesty," instantly my knees touch the ground, "I am going to visit an old acquaintance. It's been some time since I've seen her and I think this is a good time for it."
"Get up, you don't need to. I've told you several times," the king says as he touches my shoulder.
"It's habit, you know better than anyone that things will always be like this," I say as I stand up.
"You were like that with Rayzo too, so stubborn."
"Don't doubt it."
We both start walking slowly towards the entrance of the garden.
"Everything is in order, I personally took care of it. There is no responsibility that needs me, besides I left everything in Varis' hands in case something unforeseen happens."
"Good. Have a good trip, when you return we will have to continue the discussion about that situation," says the king with a sharp look on his face.
Right, that situation. How to forget it, but now I don't have time to think about it, besides I doubt that anything will happen at the moment.
"Of course, when I come back we'll give you a solution once and for all."
I don't like these words and what they bring with them, but we will have to do what must be done. All for the good of the kingdom.
After the conversation, the king went to the garden to meet his beloved and heirs. For my part, I continued on my way out of the city, then headed in the direction of my destination.

After a couple of hours of walking I arrived at my destination. There were not many inconveniences on the way, only an encounter with an annoying being which is no longer in this world, in spite of that it was a light trip.
"And here I am," I say standing at the entrance of the house.
I put my hand on the door to open it, but something catches my attention: a sound of fighting? Instantly a fireball flies through the air, I don't think for a second and run out.
"What's wrong, Lilith are you okay...?" my voice drops with every word I say.
Rayzel and a girl, who looks familiar, are fighting.
"Oh, Uncle Amos. What a surprise to see you around," Rayzel says with a small fireball in his hand.
"H... hello," the girl raises her hand in greeting, but her gaze is fixed on the ground."
What's going on here? I don't show up for a while and the kid is already fighting with I don't know who.
"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Your face says it all," Lilith appears from behind me and joins the scene. "You must be a little lost. Come, I'll explain."
Lilith invites me to tea and puts me in context. Apparently this girl is Rayzel's tutor and is teaching her how to use magic. She is an acquaintance of hers from a few years ago and works in the palace for the king's council, for some reason I thought I knew her, surely we crossed paths a few times in the palace. Varis is the one who always takes care of the leaders and their duties, that's why I know few members of the council.
After the explanation, and the delicious tea, we talked about the main topic.
"What brings you here today?" Lilith asks .
"I just came to pay a surprise visit to my little nephew," I answer.
"Sure, sure you did," a faint smile breaks out on her face. "Since you came to see him, why don't you play with him for a while?"
"Eeeh...?"
"Ray, come here," Lilith raises her hand and tone of voice.
The boy comes over to where we are sitting.
"Your practice with Asara is coming along nicely, isn't it?"
"Yes, I'm already perfecting certain techniques and mastering others. Even create some more," Rayzel says with a huge smile on his face.
Don't let him say it, don't let him say it.
"Well, why don't you try them out with your uncle?"
I knew it!
"He's still too young, Lilith, I don't think it's for the best," I say trying to escape this situation.
As I turn around to look at Rayzel, fearing that he might be sad, I get a surprise, he is excited! His eyes are wide open and his smile covers his whole face.
"Really, I'm going to get to train with the guy? Yeah, that's cool!"
He's super excited.
"You wouldn't be such a coward to shatter a child's illusions, would you, Amos?" Lilith says in a different voice than usual.
I have no choice, no escape.
"You walked from the city all the way here to see it, didn't you? Now enjoy it," Lilith says as she gets up from her seat and slowly walks towards Saraa who stands in the distance waiting for her. "By the way, I'll be busy for a few hours so I'll leave it in your care."
"Wait, isn't that girl his guardian? She can easily take care of him."
She ignored me completely.
"I'll be in your care, Uncle Amos," Rayzel says as he takes my hand.
"Sure. It will be my pleasure."
I should have said he's coming all this way to see her, I should have told the truth.
