A week has passed with Levi annoying Brett almost every chance he gets. 

"Hey new boy~" Levi says in a singsong tone. "Hi." Brett replies while rolling his eyes. Levi sits next to him at the lunch table, setting his lunch down. As they eat their lunches Levi bombards Brett with questions, with Brett either giving short answers or just ignoring him all together. "Soo, wanna hang out sometime?" This question makes Brett pause a few seconds before saying "No." 

"Why not?" Questions Levi. "You're annoying, that's why." This makes Levi stop and think for a bit. "Fine, what if I show you I'm not just annoying?"  "How?"  "I don't know but I'll figure something out." Levi replies with a smile. "Fine, you have one week."  "You won't regret it."  "Sure I won't."

-After school-

Levi is waiting by the entrance for Brett so he can make plans with him.  "Yo new boy." "My name's Brett." "I know but 'new boy' sounds better." Levi retorts with a smile. "Are you saying my name sounds bad?" Brett questions, sounding annoyed. "I.. No of course not. I think it sounds..nice?" "Sure. Anyway, you obviously want to talk about something so what is it?" 

"Oh yeah. Can we hang out today?" "Why?" "So I can start showing you I'm not annoying." Levi happily says, voice laced with hope. "I can't." "Oh.. What about tomorrow?" "You won't stop will you?" "Nope!" "Fine." Brett defeatedly makes plans to hang out with Levi tomorrow then starts walking away. "Bye bye!" Levi shouts after him, with Brett just continuing to walk away. Levi starts making his way home while humming. 

  -10 minutes later- (Levi's pov.) 

I walk home and make my way inside, going up to my room. Sitting down at my desk I start to do my homework. The time passes by with me getting lost in thoughts of the new boy, and how to make him less annoyed with me. 

Soon it's 6 o'clock and I walk down to make something to eat. I go into the kitchen and get everything I need for pesto pasta. My parents usually aren't home much and my siblings are in college so I frequently have the house to myself, which means I'm able to make whatever I want, and to experiment with new recipes. 

After I finish eating and cleaning up I go into the family room to watch my favorite drama. When it's about 10:30 I do my night routine and get ready for bed. My last thoughts before falling asleep are about Brett. 

-The next morning- (no longer Levi's pov.) 

Levi and Brett both make their way to their school, one happily skipping, the other sluggishly walking. One feeling hopeful about the day, and one dreading it. 

Neither arrives late and they both go to their first classes. After what feels like an eternity to both the final bell rings, signalling the end of the school day. 

Levi waits for Brett by the main entrance, quite like yesterday, and when he finally sees Brett he asks "Ready to go?" In a joyful tone. "As ready as I'll ever be." Brett responds.
