Are all thoughts running around his head. He feels this sudden urge of possessiveness too, Ethan’s hisfriend, his roommate, not theirs. He shakes his head “What am I thinking ? Nothing will happen, he’s just going to his first day of work, he’ll be FINE.” Jack had never felt this before. Why am I feeling like this ? Thinking this way ? I’m not like this with my other friends… 

Jack is confused with his feelings and thoughts all the way home. He decides to go out a walk, to try clear his thoughts. This walk turns into a 2 hour walk, realising the time he walks back, he has to get Ethan on time. If it took 2 hours to get to whatever destination he’s at (he doesn’t know where he is), then it will take 2 hours or more to get back. Ethan finishes in 2 hours, so he’ll be late if he’s longer. He starts speeding up. 

Eventually he ends up home, and sees Ethan unlocking the front door. “Ethan !” He shouts, trying to catch his breath. Ethan concerned, asks “What’s wrong ? Why are you out of breath ?” “I-“ 

Ethan: “Take your time, and catch your breath first. Let’s go inside.” 

Jack follows Ethan, both parking themselves on the couch. Jack’s breathing back to normal. “I went out a walk.” Ethan’s eyebrow raises “A walk ? Must of been a speed walk to be that out of breath.” He teased. 

Jack laughs “I just wanted to clear my head, and before I knew it I had been walking for 2 hours. I was lost so I didn’t really know the way back, and was rushing because I had to be on time to pick you up.” 

Ethan thinks Jack is cute, chuckling at him. “I’m 17, I can walk back myself you know.” 

Jack: “I know but I wanted to pick you up. Be there for you for your first day, you know ? It’s kind of special.” 

Jack looks at the ground, disappointed with himself, a bitter look on his face. Ethan pats his shoulder. “I don’t understand why you’re so upset, it’s okay ! I didn’t expect for you to pick me up and you’re my roommate, so I would see you after anyway.” Ethan shoots him a smile, trying to cheer him up. Ethan doesn’t know how to comfort someone, but he’s trying. His heart aching seeing Jack so upset with himself.
