I stayed up for what seemed like hours, but only a single hour passed. I stared at Dallas next to me and sighed softly. “...Dallas..?” I mumbled softly. I heard him grunt softly and shift slightly. “Dallas.” He shook his shoulder slightly, groaned softly and opened his eyes slowly. “Yeah? What is it, Steve?” He asked quietly, watching me as I sat up. “Do you think I made the right decision? I mean…I feel like I’m cheating on Sodapop..” I hugged my knees and buried my head in my arms.

I heard Dallas sigh softly and hug me from behind, pulling me close. “Steve…he broke your heart first. The only thing you’re doing is tying loose ends.” Dallas put a hand on my cheek and kissed my head. I looked up and turned around, wrapping my arms around him. “I don’t know what I would’ve done without you…” I mumbled. My body felt hot, and my face was covered with a blush. “You don’t need to worry about that. I’m here for you buddy.”

I shut my eyes slightly, feeling relaxed. “Dallas.. Once I’m alright and I moved on from Soda…will you be my boyfriend..?” He looked shocked for a moment before looking conflicted. “I don’t know Steve…I want to but I don’t want to accidentally hurt you if I ever get drunk and sleep with some broad..” He mumbled. I sighed softly, knowing he was right, but my heart wouldn’t let go of him.

“I don’t care what you do Dallas I’ll love you either way! No one is perfect in this world even I am not perfect! I can’t afford to let you go! Just through the small act of kindness you’ve shown me today, I fell for you.” I admitted truthfully. Dallas had a smile creep up onto his face as he looked down at me. He put a hand on my cheek and caressed it softly with his thumb. “Oh, Steve..” He mumbled before he kissed me.

I couldn’t help but melt into the kiss and wrap my arms around his neck. Neither of us deepened the kiss any further. It was just a gentle, comforting kiss. I broke it soon enough and smiled softly. I laid my head on his chest. “I love you Dallas.” He chuckled softly. “I love you too Steve.” I shut my eyes slowly and fell asleep to the rhythm of his heartbeat.
