After a good amount of time spent cleaning bathrooms, putting away the time wasters left out, doing the dirty laundry that has been sitting around for a week, and giving the kitchen a good scrub, Eijirou and Izuku were exhausted. But there was still more to do. They may have readied the house for company, now they have to
ready themselves.
For Izuku it was easy. Take a shower, fix up his hair, and throw on some clothes that look mildly acceptable. For his purposes a tee shirt and some nice jeans would work.
However, Eijirou wasn’t as quick. He’d take a shower, then he had to somehow manage to tame his unruly hair. Half and hour and a ridiculous amount of cleaning supplies later, he maybe looked somewhat decent. Then it was some makeup, nothing crazy, just a little powder to cover the oil and some eyeliner. And then he had to stress about his outfit. With a get together like this, you never know what’s going to end up on social media and when you’re a hero and constantly in the public eye how you look is important.
Needless to say, it was a while before they could both sit down and relax and because the gods had forsaken them, it was only a few minutes until there was a very loud, very obnoxious, knock on their door.
“I’ve got it Bean,” he sighed, getting up from where he had plopped on the couch like a starfish. He trudged over to the door and opened it with a huff. “You know, it’s rude to invite yourself over to other people’s houses.”
He was met with a grin, “You see, people keep telling me that, but I still don’t get it.” Kaminari playfully shoved Eijirou out of the way to get into the home, and pushed his way into the living room. “Never mind that, I need to find out who is debauching my bro!”
“Debauching? That’s a big word for you, where’d you learn it?” Eijirou snarked, still a little miffed that he was deprived of his Boyfriend time.
Kaminari gave an exaggerated gasp, “So mean!” he laughed as he dodged Eijirou’s playful punches. “Is he here?”
Eijirou just sighed and followed Kaminari into his own living room. He wasn’t paying much attention, so he was caught off guard when he walked directly into Kaminari's back, and nearly knocked the smaller boy over.
“No way.”
Eijirou smiled.
“No way,” Kaminari repeated himself.
“Hello Kaminari-Kun!” Midoriya said with a mischievous smile.
Kaminari continued to express his disbelief with phrases like, “Midoriya, sweet precious little Izuku, left you with that whole turtle neck of hickeys at 9 in the goddamn morning?” and “It’s always the quiet ones and the innocent ones i swear..” while people continued to show up.
Eijirou assumed the entirety of the group deemed the ‘bakusquad’ by the media would show up. Where one goes, the rest follow. He wasn’t surprised when Mina showed up next and when Sero practically had to drag Bakugou through the door with a defeated shinsou in tow. (Eijirou assumed that he had already put up his fight on the way out of his home). He was surprised when Todoroki followed them in.
“Todoroki? What are you doing here?” Eijirou asked when he walked through the threshold.
“I was there when Kaminari called Hanta. He invited me.” He said, completely stone faced excluding the blush spreading over his cheeks.
Hanta huh?
The living room became a mess of people. Izuku had saved Eijirou’s space on the couch, but Kaminari had taken up the armchair and Bakugou took the bean-bag. This left Mina, Shinsou, Sero, and Todoroki to sit on the floor.
“I really need to get more seating,” he muttered.
“When’d you start dating fucking Deku, Shitty Hair?” Bakugou growled, an eyebrow raised and the others were pleased with his inquiry.
“Yeah man come on, you gotta tell us your epic love story! You’ve been pining for him for sooo long.” Sero laughed, “I was beginning to think you’d never move on and just stay a bachelor at like 45.”
“Damn Sero, that’s harsh.” Mina said, “I’d have to agree though. You were down bad.”
Izuku was shaking with laughter on the couch when Shinsou decided to add to the chaos, “I mean you can’t really laugh at him, Midoriya, it’s not like you weren’t the same way. I had to listen to you mutter about his muscles for years.”
“Oh my god, same” Denki added, “Especially when he went through that growth spurt just after we graduated.”
Eijirou raised an eyebrow and turned to Izuku who was tucked beneath his arm next to him on the couch, “My muscles?” he whispered.
Izuku blushed, “I thought it was fascinating how you became so strong, and your quirk doesn’t even affect your physical strength.”
The larger boy chuckled, “Really now, it was just typical hero analysis? Nothing else?”
Izuku tipped his head up in a show of confidence he rarely exposed to others and brought his lips closer to Eijirou’s ear, “I mean, it probably had to do with the fact that you could manhandle me anyway you wanted.”
It was Eijrou’s turn to blush.
“Or the fact that even with all of your muscles, I would still be stronger and be able to hold you down.” Midoriya smirked. He’d completely forgotten about everyone else in the room, so when he turned his attention back to them he had completely lost track of the conversation. They all seemed to have diverted the subject from their longstanding crushes to arguing over what movie they were going to watch.
All except for Todoroki, who was leaning against the side of the couch next to Izuku. He was looking up at the green haired boy with a look in his eyes Izuku had never seen before. His expression morphed into confusion before Todoroki began to speak.
“I’m happy for you.” It was simple. No teasing, no fluff. Just genuine care.
“Thanks Shouto-Kun,” Izuku said. And he meant it too. “I’m happy for you too.” He nodded towards Sero who had laid his head in Todoroki’s lap, and was still talking animatedly with the others.
Todoroki smiled, and looked down at the boy in his lap as though he was his whole world. He probably was.
Izuku was happy to just sit there in his boyfriend's arms as he observed. Watching as Mina and Kaminari danced around snatching movies out of eachothers hands, arguing with smiles on their faces. Listening to the rumble in Eijirou's chest as he scolds Bakugou for setting off explosions in the apartment.
They spend hours just like this, going late into the night. Watching movies, arguing about how they liked or disliked said movies. Arguing over which movies they wanted to watch next, and repeating the process. It may be loud and chaotic, but these were his friends, and he was happy.
Eijirou wasn’t paying attention to the others. Apart from the occasional veto of a movie, (no one wants to watch 50 shades Kami, it’s just not the right vibe for a friendly get together) and the shout at Bakugou to quit exploding his dvd’s, he spent his time watching Izuku like Izuku often watched him.
He could tell that Izuku was happy. He watched as his eyes jumped from person to person, analyzing their behavior. Not in a stalkery or a sciency way, but in an adoring way. Izuku’s way of making sure everyone else is happy too.
He made sure to look away, when Izuku had his conversation with Todoroki, because he was a good friend and a good boyfriend and didn’t want to eavesdrop. He turned to Bakugou who was sitting in the bean bag he had scooted over to lean against the bottom of the couch.
He didn’t expect a heartfelt talk, or anything from Bakugou. Bakugou had been there to sit silently and ‘ignore’ him while he gushed about his ridiculous crush. Bakugou knew how big this was for him, but the guy wasn’t the greatest with words. But the fact that Bakugou was here was saying a lot, even if Sero had to drag him along. When Bakugou found him staring he just held eye contact for a moment and nodded, before looking away.
Eijirou guessed that was his approval. He took a moment to bask in the fact that he just got Bakugou Katsuki’s permission to date his childhood best friend and turned towards his boyfriend. After just admiring him for a few seconds, he hooked a finger under Izuku’s chin and pressed their lips together. It wasn’t a lot, just a slow chaste kiss, but that didn’t seem to matter to anyone else. They seemed to be waiting for this.
There were many shouts varying from “get a room” to “Oh come on you can do better than that! Show us some tongue.” These caused both of them to laugh into the kiss. Eijirou was about to pull away when Izuku reached up and pulled him down for more, nipping at his bottom lip to deepen the kiss. He was too distracted to notice the middle finger Izuku directed towards his friends.
Izuku continued to kiss him, choosing to ignore the others shouting and catcalling at them. He sucked on Eijirou’s tongue pulling a soft moan out of the other boy, who responded by tangling his hands into Izuku’s hair and tugging. Izuku finally broke the kiss with a gasp, and rested his forehead against his boyfriend’s shoulder.
I really didn’t think that through, He thought.
Eijirou, on the other hand, was thinking very different thoughts. Holy hell that was the hottest thing Izuku has ever done.
The night went on. Public displays of affection followed by teasing from the others. Arguing over movies that no one is going to pay attention to, inevitable explosions (much to Eijrou’s dismay) and so much more. But that’s to be expected. Movie after movie, people started to fall asleep beginning with Todoroki, and slowly the rest of them followed.
Author's Note:
I had to split this into two chapters cause it was too long for Tapas apparently. So y'all get about 1700 words here and 1700 words in the next one. Unfortunately this is the end of this series. I'll talk about it more in the end of the next chapter.
