"NO WAY!!" Alex exclaimed. "You got tickets to the Stormies' basketball game??"
"Yep, front row seats and you're not invited," Nathan teased. Alex stared at him with disgust. "I hate it when you do that," A wide smile slowly spread across Nathan's face. "Relax, I'm teasing!" His face started to slip away, as if it was just barely out of reach. The storm clouds above began to rumble with thunder, then a flash of lightning struck, filling the world with whites, blues, purples, and yellows.
Alex awoke, startled, laying in the hospital bed. The bright lights above her shined into her eyes. She sat up with them shut, and slowly blinked them open. Mrs. Lemon and a doctor she didn't know were next to her, with their backs turned, viewing something on the computer that she didn't recognize. It must've been her blood pressure, because she felt a heavy... thing on her right arm. The doctor turned to leave and noticed Alex was awake. Alex could see their lips moving but couldn't really grasp onto what they were saying. She was too tired. "How long was I out?" Alex whispered groggily. She thought she heard someone say about a day, but she wasnt sure. Alex looked out the window. It was snowing. Of course it was, Alex thought. It's the middle of winter. After about a minute, Alex gained control of all her senses and tried to piece together everything that was happening.
