8:19am
Corey walked down the corridor, soldier walking close behind him.
Corey was woken up early this morning by a soldier shaking him awake and when he questioned the soldier, the man just pointed the gun at him and motioned him to walk out the door with no other words.
Whilst walking down each corridor, Corey counted how many kid-hospital rooms they walked past to the point he lost count. He could hear the kids... either talking to themselves or crying. Each kid was completely different from the other: one kid was constantly scratching at the door like an animal as if they'll be able to claw their way out of the room. Another kid stared straight at the door, not blinking whatsoever. Many of them seemed as though they haven't slept whatsoever, covered in bruises from injections... none of them had the same bruises as Corey, he was the only one with black-purple bruises on his neck... the only one who was incredibly dead tired and who could feel the phantom pain of the 'treatments' he's been exposed to.
Eventually, the soldier stopped in front of an office door with the labelled 'Doctor Dianne Thompson'. The soldier opened the door and pushed Corey inside. Corey turned his head to the only person in the room, Dianne, who he remembered was the children's councillor "Thirty minutes, Thompson... no longer" "Thank you" Dianne thanked the soldier as he walked out of the room, closing the door behind himself. Dianne looked over at Corey and gestured to the chair in front of her desk "Take a seat" "I'd rather not" Corey answered, folding his arms as Dianne leaned against her desk "Suit yourself, but honestly Corey... I'm not your enemy, you can trust me" Dianne told him yet he just continued to glare at her. "...what am I doing here?" Corey asked as Dianne picked up a notepad and started writing "In my office? because I wanted to check up on you and how you're going with recovering from your treatments" Dianne answered before showing Corey the notepad 'This is the Grey Army Child Testing Centre, the GACTC. You and you're friends, and all the other children are here only to be tested on'. Corey raised a brow, hesitantly taking the pen and notepad from Dianne "Right..." Corey gave the notepad back to Dianne 'Why?' Dianne quickly wrote something else down "So how have you been feeling lately?" Dianne gave the pad and pen back to Corey. 'I don't know the full reason, but the Head Doctor knows something about you kids, something that helps make you all immune the 'vaccines' somehow' Corey wrote and gave the pad back to Dianne 'My 'treatments' involve me and another kid getting electrocuted for hours on end, why?' right after reading that, Dianne looked up at the boy, face full of absolute horror and worry. "I hate it here... all of us want to go home" Corey said out loud for the soldier he was sure was still standing right outside the door, most likely listening in on their 'conversation'. "Trust me, this will all be over soon" Dianne said, biting her done as she handed the pad back to the boy 'I'm sorry, that's something I have information on' Corey gave the notepad back, not bothering to write anything else on it as he glared at the ground.
"I'm so sorry this is all happening to you" Dianne quietly whispered, only just loud enough for Corey to hear yet the boy just glared at her "If you were actually sorry, you help all of us escape" Corey quietly spat "I can't" "Then you're worthless-" "No one can escape because all time outside of this building has been paused" Dianne harshly told him, still staying quiet enough so the soldier outside the door couldn't hear. Corey's eyes widened in confusion "What? that's impossible-" "No, what's impossible is a boy who has been electrocuted for hours straight with the electricity on the highest level and is still alive and standing with only a bruise or two is impossible" Dianne stated, opening up the window blind "It's currently about eight-thirty and it's still pitch black outside" Dianne turned her head back to the boy. "It's been the twenty-seventh of January for about ten days now" Dianne stated, as Corey stared at her in disbelief "...we haven't even started highschool yet-" "Part of the 'collection process' of retrieving the children was manipulating their memory" Dianne stated. "Really what happened for you and Vixen at that park really happened... but that was a day before you and your friends were suppose to start your new year of school" ...Corey went to turn his head and before he could react, someone had hit him over the head... Corey slowly touched the back of his head, remembering the tampered memory. "This... can't all be real-" "They have the ability to fake a lot of things, but pain isn't any of them" Dianne told him yet the boy just stepped away from her "I-" Corey flinched a bit, pain shooting through both his arms and head. He could hear screaming in his head, feel phantom glass cutting his arms and blood running down his arms and hands, feel the weight of chains on his wrists and ankle. "Corey? you okay?" Dianne asked, rushing over to the boy's side yet Corey just pushed Dianne away from him "Angelina... where is she?" he questioned and as an answer, Dianne simply pointed to the vent in the corner of the room.
Corey turned his head to the vent, and as he did, an alarm went off throughout the hospital. The soldier from outside rushed into the room, closing and locking the door behind himself "Back up, away from the door" he told the two as he turned towards the door, pointing his gun at it as Dianne pulled Corey back towards her desk, at the same time, all lights throughout the hospital went out.
Angelina froze as all the lights went out in the corridor below her, replaced with slow flashing red lights. Angelina was currently still in the vents with the soldier she talked to earlier, Patryk. Patryk was slowly guiding her back to her hospital room at least. Yet now, both of them were looking down through air vent openings, Angelina's eyes widened a bit as she looked into the corridor.
Corey and Dianne watched a shadow climb up the other side of the door as the soldier backed away from it a bit, gun still pointed at the door, cold glare printed on his face. The soldier carefully dug out his radio and leaned into it "Code E in Block Z, outside Thompson's office, over" the soldier whispered calmly into the radio "Copy that, sending team over" a voice answered on the other end of the radio. Corey suddenly felt lightheaded and almost fainted, stumbling back a bit as he held his head. He could still hear several people screaming, the echos of the screams growing louder in his head along with the phantom feeling of pain and blood still running down his arms.
Angelina looked back at Patryk "What's happening?" she quietly questioned as the Red Army soldier glanced over at her then back to the corridor below them "Code E lockdown... a far worse version of it at least" he answered as the girl turned her head back to the vent opening, eyes widening more as she saw the thing the creeping shadow belonged to. "...what the hell is that thing?" Angelina questioned, panic seeping through her voice as Patryk answered her question with only one word "... demon".
