I stopped my car near an abandoned town. This town had a feeling of familiarity, like I had been here before. I’m surprised that this was the place where the headmaster would live. I expected something of a castle or a vortex into another dimension. All this was an abandoned town that would not be the ideal place for someone who caused the world into chaos would be hiding. Every location felt smaller and smaller. Not sure why this so happened to be the case. Must be some sort of coccidence. I found myself finding something glowing down the alleyway. I paced towards the alley to find something peculiar. It was a wooden door that came with a sign on top with the words:”COME INSIDE” . I guess this door acts like a type of portal. Guess that fits with my theory about some sort of vortex somewhere. Even though I didn’t want to enter; if this is where the headmaster lives, then I needed to go regardless. I turned the doorknob and opened the door. When I entered, the door shut behind me on my own. The room inside was met with pitch blackness, I could see myself quite clearly, but not anything else. There was an ominous presence looming over me. Eyes watching me from a distance. “We can finally meet.” A deep voice echoed through the darkness. Footsteps approached me, I took a step back to prepare for whatever might come into my sight. What approached me, definitely threw me off guard a little. It was a tall lanky man. He wasn’t exactly human, but the figure definitely seemed to match that description. He was well dressed, with a nice tux suit and a top hat. He was completely in black, but there was some light that made his appearance visible. His head was spherical with a cartoony wide smile on his face. “So you're the one behind this.” “The one you wished to kill, the one you hate, the one who after my defeat the belief of the world being saved? I am that person you seek.” His voice had this deep and raspy voice. The tone which almost seemed pleasant and foreboding. “I expected someone with a physique to incline to a god or a demon.” “Generally, this goes for all humans. Either way, the result is always the same.” “Why did you do this?” “I’m surprised it took this quickly to ask. I would’ve assumed you either tried to prolong the convo or kill me straight on. I’m not just some ordinary monster bound on destruction. I’m quite surprised you don’t remember.” “Remember what?” “I’m your imaginary friend.”
A flood of memories came back. I started to remember, and I started to regret. “Oh and those creatures, they're not just some ordinary creatures. They’re humans!” I felt my heart skip a beat when he said that. “You're lying!” “How naive, you always doubt the things that are always true. All of them are people crafted carefully to fit their sin. I originally started with a string of hair, scissors and a kitchen knife. This created a prototype of the creatures of sin. Each creature you faced represents their representative sin. The apple is the sin of backstabbing people, the ones who turn on others in the aid of need. A design based on the classic tale of Snow White; fitting isn’t? The lamp represents the people who kidnap others. They are usually in places such as in alleyways or dark corners. A lamp was fitting for a place where a confirmation is held. A puppet with its strings is the sin of luring people into a false sense of security. They usually control people, or brainwash them into cults and cause others acts of terror. The teapot represents the wraith of people who can’t control their anger. They lash out and commit acts of violence or worse in some cases. Representing them as teapots fits the ideal of bolling rage. The dollhouse represents the disgusting act of pedophillia. This one's self-explanatory. Although further regarding my design, I like to think of it as a prison for ones who prey on the youth. Speaking of that specific creature, you might have seen a friend of yours get crushed. “One you purposely killed.” “Are you sure? Her story wasn’t quite accurate; when she was a child she was abused by her aunt. This instinct on the act of abuse caused her to act on her aunt’s son and treat him the same. I don’t control the actions of the ones I create. I just so happen to know from my robotic friend, who so happened to make some of his designs of his own. I’m aware of what he made, but I know it must be one whose sin is deserving of their punishment. The ghostly pot represent prostitution. Of course, there are some who generally don’t control that action, but I also punish the ones who do. If the ones are willing to do so, then I punish the ones by turning them into that. A pot was fitting for the sense of greed, a fitting fate indeed. That friend sure caused quite a roadstop at the end.” “Shut up!” “Still naive, she was someone who wasn’t innocent. She was a famous killer, she killed over twelve in her spare time. She wanted to beg for forgiveness, so I sent her to help you. Problem was, she became too attached. Not a problem for me, but an issue for her. She didn’t want to tell the truth, but it came out and left you alone and helpless.” I couldn’t do anything, but look down at the floor. I couldn’t accept any of this, but I knew it was most likely true. She mentioned imaginary friends to get something back in your head. It didn’t happen to work in the end. Adding to more frustration of myself. My name is quite different from the old me. Refer to me as Mr.Karma. A name fitting for what I’m about to show you. A fitting name indeed.
He presented me with a tv screen and inserted a VHS tape inside. The screen buzzed the title “MEMORIES” on the screen. It showed myself telling my imaginary friend to go wait inside the alley. The place was the exact same as the one I arrived at. And the alley was where the door was placed. My imaginary friends’ name was called Magjic. He was a much smaller version of his Mr.Karma appearance. His head was a bit bigger and his body was smaller in general. His arms and legs were the size of a doll. He floated off the ground instead of standing still. Instead of no eyes and a wide cartoon smile. Magjic had small red eyes and a line for a mouth. His tone of speech was a bit more childish and his voice was a bit high pitched. He was very cute in a way. “You’ll be back right?” “I promise, just got to do something.” I left and walked somewhere off into the distance. Magjic just stayed in the end of the alleyway; unaware of anything, which matched his innocence. He just just kept on smiling and thinking nothing out of the ordinary. A time card showed that an hour had passed. Magjic started to worry a little bit and look out to see if he was there. The town wasn’t abandoned and people were occupying the streets and various stores. When Magjic went to look for me the people looked a bit frightened. They had never seen such a figure before. Some ran and some gave weird looks. Magjic also panicked and backed into the alley. “Why isn’t he back yet?” Magjic was getting even more worried than he was before. He started to huddle near the wall and descended towards the ground to sit down. Another title card showed that 5 hours had passed making the bright and sunny day turn to nightfall. Three teenage boys who seemed to be around the age of 16-18 approached Magjic. The leader of the group approached him first. “What have we got here?” The one left of the leader who was muscular said, “What the fuck is that thing?” “I don’t know, looks pretty pathetic if you ask me.” The boy on the right, who was ordinary dressed and seemed to be the most normal one of the group said, “Looks like a doll.” “Er-no, I’m an imaginary friend.” “Imaginary friend? I thought those went extinct. And to think something as disgusting is still alive and well.” “What was the deal with them again?”, The muscular boy asked his leader. “They took everything from us. They were disgusting in general, such vile hellspawn simply shouldn’t exist. Those pieces of shits are a disgrace to the world. All are like a hivemind bent on ruining others lives and taking over our world.” “B-but I never did that.” “You sure as hell are.” Without warning the leader punched Magjic with blunt force, making Magjic hit his head on the wall. “You really got him good,” said the leader’s muscular friend. “Sure did, there is plenty more where that came from. Unfortunately I can’t afford to miss my curfew, we’ll be seeing you another time shithead.” They started walking away, leaving Magjic bruised up and trying to pull himself off the ground. “What did I do…? I didn’t cause anything bad did I? I just wanted to help my friend and anyone in need. Why isn’t he coming back?” Magjic just stared at the ground upset that his friend didn’t seem to be coming back. All he could do was stay in the alleyway, hoping for his friend to return.
A title card flashes on screen saying, “THE NEXT DAY.” Magjic wakes up the next morning in his little box he found. “I think today is the day he comes back, he is probably just doing something important. He hasn’t forgotten about me, so I should be okay.” Magjic starts to fold his arms around himself. “I wish there was something warm around.” Magic searches around for something he can use to cover himself. He goes out of the alley in secret, which leads him to find a lone towel on the street. “I just gotta be careful to not get seen by anyone.” Magjic carefully menoavers himself towards the street. He is then caught by someone who screams and panics. Other people start to gather around the commotion and also see Magjic as well. A woman starts to dial her phone to call the police and tells them to deal with the situation. Magjic is very intimidated by all this commotion so he swiftly grabs the blanket and hides somewhere so no one can find him. The cops arrive and the woman tries to explain her story in the best detail possible. Magjic sees the cops and goes back in the dark alley, trying to not get spotted. Magjic goes inside the box and covers himself with the blanket to stay hidden from the police. The woman tells the cops that she thinks she saw the creature down the dark alley where Magjic was. The cops approach the alley with their flashlights. Magjic is huddled in the box and is shaking due to the amount of anxiety he is having. The cops don’t seem to find anything down there, but some garbage and a cardboard box. They didn’t even bother to check what was inside and had assumed it was nothing important. Magjic overhears the convo with the woman and cops and says they will come back if there is another occurrence. “That was really close. They would’ve arrested me for sure, and I don’t want to go to jail. And especially I can’t upset my friend who might think I'm a criminal. It would ruin our relationship and he might even not want to be my friend anymore. The thought of that just makes me upset to even think about it. I don’t want that to ever happen.” Magjic waits by the wall again, still waiting for his friend to get back. There wasn’t much he could do to entertain himself, since he couldn’t be seen by anyone without causing a ruckus. Time passed from the afternoon to night. The bullies knew night time was the best time to strike. They did just that a little after the sun had set. The leader was the one who approached first again. “I see you're still in that spot of yours. Guess you missed us so bad that you wanted to have a small reunion. Can’t imagine you’ll be alive for much longer though. Frankly I don’t think you really deserve any sort of salvation.” Magjic just stayed quiet and cowering near the wall. “I-I will pr-prove you wrong. My friend who created me still cares. He’ll come back, I’m sure of it.” “So you still have an owner. You really think he still gives a shit about you. He was smart to abandon you in this dark alley.” “N-no, you’re wrong.” “Don’t fucking pester me. Hey Frank!(Frank was the big muscled guy) “What is it?” “Think you could knock some sense into this asshole. Trying to ruin my ideal judgment with his false ideals. It's beginning to piss me off.” “On it.” He began to approach Magjic and kick him hard in the chest. “T-that hurt.” “Did it? I’ll make it hurt even more if you want.”
Frank kicked Magjic harder, leaving Magjic to feel ill and unable to move his body from the impact. “Sure hope that makes you shut your mouth. Remember this as a threat to never testify to me again. Little shits like you won’t control more or defy anything I say.” The group left again leaving Magjic is a worse state than yesterday. “Why do they hate me? I don’t want to do anything bad. They are so very mean. And my friend still does care about me….right? I can’t move, it hurts so much. I wish someone here could help me.” Magjic limped heavily as he moved; he went towards the cardboard box and put the cover over him and went to sleep.
