Lydia brought the tea over to Myles's study. She placed it down on the table, little Jino immediately sitting down and waiting patiently for a cup. The slime looked happy, though it was easy to see her anxiety deep down. It hurt to see such a young girl having to bear such a burden. Lydia poured the tea for everyone before she herself sat down, her blue eyes shining with resolve.
"So, let us talk about how we will help Miss Jino. She spoke to me about the situation, and I would like to help if you will allow me to." Lydia said, calm and gentle despite clearly being upset by what she had heard. She had a tendency to be rather scary when she thought that there was an injustice being done. Especially when it was happening to someone as sweet and innocent as Jino. Myles didn't even want to bother arguing with Lydia on this. If she wanted to help, he had a feeling she would do just that regardless of what he said.
"Very well... However, please make sure that Windy knows what you are up to. I don't want him freaking out because his beloved wife is missing." Myles said with a sigh, to which Lydia simply nodded. No wonder she could be married to someone like Windy. She was just as stubborn, if not more so.
"Right, well, it is good to have extra hands. I do think that we have a lot we need to talk about, given the circumstances. If they are doing this, the guild will be challenging to get to. Even if I managed to talk to them, I doubt they would admit to doing such a horrible thing." Dmitri said as he tapped his foot as he held his teacup. "The uppers at the guild are as tricky to deal with as a Spinx is."
"I think our best plan of action is to first and foremost save Jino's tribe. If I can get them all in a concentrated spot, we can teleport them onto my territory. I think that we'd need someone to cause a big distraction, like an attack on the guild itself. I am already considered a villain, so such a thing won't be a surprise. Since Dmitri is out, it also won't pose a threat to anyone. We won't harm anyone either; I am against such things unless we are first provoked. Yet if they think we are going to, all their attention will go to that, and we can easily slip Jino's tribe away. " Myles spoke, surprisingly confident in his plan. Dmitri shook his head with a frown after a second of thought.
"That is all well and good; however, there is one flaw. Some slimes are being held inside the guild, correct? How will we get those guys out?" He asked, not really minding that it would put him on the 'bad' side if he did this.
"We could do so during our distraction. If one of us is getting the fighter's attention, the other can go in and retrieve the injured and captured slimes. I actually believe I would be well suited to the job." Lydia mused, smiling calmly as she offered Jino a cookie.
"Jino can help too!!! I can sense when those in my tribe are nearby. Miss Lydia and I can go in and save them while Dmitri in disguise attacks the guide." Jino exclaimed, crumbs now all over her face and hands.
"Wait, you think I should be the one to attack the guild?" Dmitri asked, his eyes wide. "I mean, I don't mind if it means helping out, but.."
"No offense, Dmitri; however, my magic is stronger than yours. I doubt that you will be able to transport that many slimes that distance without hurting yourself. As part of my title, my aid-based magic is much stronger on 'monsters.' " Myles responded, smiling. "Not to mention, there would be an all-out war if I attacked directly. A mysterious vigilante, however... that could do something and keep us in the clear. " Myles found himself grinning. This was certainly out of his way, yet something was inspiring about this type of operation. Dmitri looked mildly skeptical, however he seemed to relent after thinking about it.
"Yeah, okay. I get it. That does make sense, although it does go against me being the hero." He grumbled. "Though, in a way, this is the most heroic thing I can do since it is helping the innocent. Gods, this was not what I expected to be doing when I got this title."
Lydia smiled and stood up, brushing her skirt off.
"Very well. Let me go prepare our things. This shall be a stealth operation, so I will pack accordingly." She said confidently. Myles, Jino, and Dmitri waited for Lydia to return. Jino seemed in good spirits, which was more critical to Myles than anything else. They would have to be quick, and he would need to make sure that his allies had no chance of getting hurt. Particularly Jino and Lydia. As soon as Lydia came back, the room went silent.
Lydia was dressed in all black, very much looking like an assassin. Her hair was back and her face covered, and she had a small bag secured tightly onto her back. On her legs were various weapons, and she looked far more intimidating than anyone else in the room. She walked over to Jino without saying a word and handed her some clothes, smiling.
"Miss Jino, please put this on for me. We got these outfits in a raid that my husband did a while back. They are embedded with stealth magic. It'll be harder for anyone to notice us even if the distraction doesn't work." Lydia hummed, clapping her hands together before she looked at Dmitri. "Dmitri, I have a ring that will disguise you instantly. Please make sure to return it once you are done. Do not lose it, or you will have to deal with Windy's wrath."
"You are very put together, Lydia. I am impressed." Myles mused, smiling as he stood up. Lydia giggled and put her hands together with a warm expression.
"Thank you, Master Myles. I may not look like much, however, I am the wife of a dragon. I am quite capable of many things. I simply do not like to use these skills unless necessary." She gave a thumbs up. Dmitri couldn't help but laugh. She was a lot like Myles in that sense. The more he was here, the more he felt that these were the people he wanted to be with. Yet he had an obligation to the guild; he felt as if he did. This situation was really changing his idea of what was right and wrong.
"Alright, you know what to do, everyone. Jino, can you tell me where exactly I can find your tribe? " Myles asked, raising his hand and opening a portal up for himself.
"My tribe is just north of the capital city, five rows deep into the forest. There is a large clearing where we live." Jino said, now changed into a black outfit that mimicked Lydia's. They looked like twins almost.
"Alright. I want you all to get out there once you have the targets as soon as possible. These are transportation scrolls, set to here. Please use as many as you need. They are easy enough to make." Myles said, handing a bunch to Lydia and one to Jino and Dmitri. "Don't get caught. Dmitri, I want you to set off a flare as soon as you have begun your assault. That way, I know when I can start gathering slimes up. If things get too bad, light a black flare." He handed these all to his friend and smiled. "Though I doubt you will need my aid since you are the hero and everything,"
"Since when have you ever been this motivated or cool, Myles?" Dmitri teased, smiling as he looked at the villain. Myles grew flustered, though he blew it off.
"I just want to help Jino. Anyone who comes to me asking for help gets it. No matter what. Yeah, it's out of my way, but I can't drink my tea in peace knowing something terrible is happening. So that's why I am doing this. It's not anything that cool."
"Yeah yeah, whatever you say, Myles." Dmitri laughed, putting on the ring of disguise. It worked almost instantly.
"We ready?" Myles asked, to which everyone responded with a resounding yes.
Myles is one of the strongest, yet laziest mages in the kingdom. All he truly wants is to sit and drink his tea in peace. One day however, a fateful interaction with a dragon named Windfighter jump starts his career in ways he never expected, nor wanted. All he wanted was a cup of tea, and somehow he ended up becoming the most infamous villain of all time. This is his story.
