We all were a little bit nervous in a way. A regal man walked out through the large wooden gates. "Welcome everyone. This is a chance of a lifetime. I hope you all put forth your best effort." He motioned for us all to come in after his short speech. We walked in an orderly manner so not to upset the members in charge. Most of us were unsure if our behavior would dock us down a few points. I truly hoped not. That wouldn't be fair. As I made my way inside I admired the beautiful woodwork. Carvings of mythical beasts layered the walls. Phoenixes, dragons and all sorts decorated this wondrous hall. I almost walked into the person in front of me being lost in awe. Another member of the association stood in front of us with others standing behind. I could only presume he had high status in the building. He wore decorated medals on his lapel. I could not make out what they said from the distance I was in line. I didn't know if it was appropriate to ask the person in front of me what they were saying.

It was possible they couldn't hear what was being said either. Once the main figure was finished speaking he sent the others to talk to each other person in group succession. It was such a relief. At least I would know what was going on. Appearing before me was a young man. He looked very smug as he studied my appearance. I wasn't disheveled in my looks. It must've been the lack of nice clothing. I lacked the money to afford anything nice. He recited what was need to said and abruptly walked away. He strutted away like he was a model on a runway. So obnoxious. The room I was assigned to was just as beautiful as the hallway. There were monitors watching from a distance. Just close enough to make sure we weren't somehow cheating. We could only bring one page for a basic outline. I was going free minded without even the core of it figured out. Probably not the best idea. But I did so anyways.

I had this strange idea that it would help my creativity. Creativity and a formulated plan are what I need right now. The type writer in front of me filled with blank paper overwhelmed me with dread. I would just have to start. The clicking in my ears around me didn't help my thought process. There was also paper beside each desk to plan out the story a little better. I tried to put my ideas down in the most organized way possible. Jotting down each character and planning their actions was important. I always believed the reasoning behing their actions was more important than what they actually did. Their thoughts are the first step to their behaviors. Their behaviors are a result of their morals and beliefs. It could also be a state of their mental health.

All things had to be considered when planning a character and organizing a chapter. I wasn't sure how long it was going to be, but I would figure it out along the way. I made sure to stay focused. I kept thinking about how to make their love story relatable. Some type of ridiculous dramatics was not needed. I developed a day to day story that helped people feel good about their lives. That they mattered. Hours passed by and I was getting to the good part. The monitors annouced that we could take a break and have lunch in their cafeteria. All expenses paid. It was a tempting offer, but it was more critical that I finished this. Most of the other writers took the offer and left to have a nice meal.

I finished the story in 8 hours of not taking a break. It wasn't that long of a story, but i felt that it was good. I didn't feel the need to edit except for the grammar. I didn't want to get docked because of some silly mistake. I walked over and turned in my paper. "Are you sure you're done?" The man look dissatisfied with me. He probably thought my storytelling was lackinh because I got done so fast. "Yes, I finished it." He grabbed the papers and I went on my way. The man's face was so irritated. It made me think I was stupid for turning it in so early. The results would come soon enough. In a few weeks my life could change completely.
