A frail, wisp is sneaking around in the night, packing a bag full of supplies for tonight. She's heard on the television that she could see the planet Mercury in the sky for about an hour just after sunset. She was giddy about making this a memorable moment, she had a fascination for space. Tiptoeing downstairs she makes her way to the back door and eases it shut to prevent a slam then sets out on her bike to reach the largest hill in town. It's a laborious journey for a girl of her size, but she proves to have a mighty resolve as she reaches the top. Now finally able to catch her breath she hops off of her trusty bike and assembles her best telescope on the grass and sets her sights on the planet. Peeking into the looking glass she nearly squealed with glee, the air had a mild chill, but the warm summer night was persistent. The young girl laid out a blanket on the ground and dug through her bag, revealing her stash of moon pies and her obsession for the treat by their name alone. The night was a good one, the only downfall would be a ration of scolding from her parents that she would receive upon arrival. But for now, the peace she felt now was reward enough.
This is going to become the home for writing that was too short to become its own novel, pieces based on prompts, scenes without context, a place to start new series, and other random stuff.
