Pirates of The Stars

Chapter 2: The Scorpion (Part 1)

Chapter 2: The Scorpion (Part 1)

Apr 30, 2022

He waved his hand, summoning a long sword with purple flames surrounding it and a green handle he held tight. His steps were slow and steady toward the black-haired girl, who struggled to see where he was going.

She readied hers; were was stern on him. She knew this guy was not one to be fought with, but she knew she had to do it.

"I have to see his grave or him to confirm that first."

"Is that so," he said, raising his sword, "then, I Scorpiousa will stop you."

She got into position, but to her shock, the moment she blinked, he was eye-to-eye in front of her as she had little time to cross sword with him and failed as he swung his sword, she barely avoided it by moving her head, scratching her cheek. He then swung his blade with even more force, causing a vast purple wave to make its way toward her pushing her backwards.

She caught her grip by digging her sword to the ground, with blood coming out of the torn parts of her clothes, her pants, and her sleeves. She could feel a rush through her veins and glared at the red-haired captain, "I ain't afraid of ya Stars!"

"You are a brave girl, maybe smart enough to tell a Star apart from a normal human but not smart enough to know when to stop chasing."

The wind pushed through as he pointed his sword at him; her hair was flying in the wind as she struggled to move forward, taking slow steps with her voice sounding weaker by the second. Finally, with all her might, she got closer, using her sword as a cane; her legs were getting weak, the pressure was getting higher, and it seemed like she was losing hope, "you... you don't get it; he's the only family I have."

He was in awe by how strong her will was, but he was keener on keeping her in the line; his eyes glowed as the wind got stronger, causing her to move back. He was sweating; tattoos started forming across his hands as his energy was getting drained by keeping her away alone.

Noticing his flaw, she jumped up high, attempting to swing her blade, only to cross swords with him as he pushed her backwards once again. Their swords crossed again as this time,  with a different strategy, she was slashing his nonchalantly, causing him to move slightly back in the sand.

"I told you, give up already!"

The moment she tried to slash his sword once again, he kicked her away and swung his sword, it barely missed her, but it broke the eyepatch she was wearing. His eyes met hers, her uncovered eye was red, and he couldn't help but stare before everything around him turned black. She disappeared, and he was inside an empty hollow world. Before red eyes appeared, the world around him was black, eyes like snakes. He could feel his legs shaking, and the sword he held in his hand dropped before disappearing.

He had no idea where he was, leaving him confused in the dark. But, then, a black matter started forming in front of him, slowly shifting into a giant black snake with red eyes, it slithered gradually towards him and stared into his eyes, and he could hear loudly. His ears were ringing from the loud noise.

             REPENT, REPENT, REPENT.

He covered his ears, but it was futile; the words kept repeating as he fell to his knees, and he closed his eyes to find himself deep in his head. There were chains wrapped around his arms, hanging him up as he opened his eyes to see the scenery he had once seen.

                "Warlock of Samos."

Some people surrounded him, grabbing him by his arm as they chained him up above ground. It was a familiar scene, he had seen this before, but it terrified him every time. As they beat him up, his lover approached him, ex-lover. She was a woman with short black hair and green eyes that matched her dress. The woman looked at him without mercy.

"Throw him to the ocean after you cut his hair and disable his magic," a green-eyed woman said, "that'll teach him a lesson."

They unlocked his chains and tried escaping; he ran right and left only to be captured by multiple men larger than him. He shouted for the woman in a green dress, but she was walking away from him, leaving him in shock. Some large men started dragging him, and they showed no mercy; his body was beaten to a pulp. He felt lifeless, without any energy left before they tied him up, grabbed his braided hair, and cut it off.

"That'll show him," he heard people cursing at him, but he could barely move; he felt like he was about to drown before they grabbed him and threw him into the ocean. The feeling of betrayal engulfed him.

In the oceans, all he taught was her. He could barely breathe and kept remembering her face smiling at him, but it wasn't long before the sweet memory turned into a bitter nightmare. He remembered that she bled to death on the ground and insisted it was not his fault.

Legends has it that there are pirates that would are cursed by the stars and the seas to have unimaginable power, one that would change the game of the seas once and for all, however because of their power they are as an atrocity that would cause people to isolate them, to fear them, and even attempt to kill them.

However, it is said that they would meet each other, as if fate had intended for them to meet. Nobody truly understands the immensity of their power, but many tries to replicate them with witchery and dealing with the ocean spirits.
These people are the ‘Stars’ for their power reminds people of the constellation in the skies, some more recognizable, some are less recognizable.

This is an adventure, that some may want to see, some may ignore.
