A week had passed and each training had been harder than the last one, it seemed as if the day they had been waiting for would never come but it finally did. Both teams were at their best and ready to give it all on the field, the cheerleaders were gonna cheer like they had never cheered before. Charlotte didn't know what she was more nervous about, winning the game or impressing a certain someone who was cheering for her.
Both teams were walking to the field while the cheerleaders set up in front of the bleachers
-Okay girls, let's hear it one last time before the match starts- Said Vanessa, the captain of the cheer team
-Ready? GIVE ME AN M! - She yelled
-M! - The girls cheered
-GIVE ME AN O!
-O!
-GIVE ME AN N!
-N!
-GIVE ME AN A!
-A!
-GIVE ME AN R!
-R!
-GIVE ME A C!
-C!
-GIVE ME AN H!
-H!
-MONARCH ACADEMY!- They all shouted in sintony
The girls finished practicing the cheers right when the whistle blew indicating the beginning of the match, Sahra's eyes were stuck on Charlotte while hers were stuck on the ball.
The match proceeded and the girls were losing hope of getting anything more than a tie, there was almost no time left and one kick could determine who won.
The opposite team ran with the ball and the girls all tried to protect their goal, the ball was getting closer and closer when Charlotte decided that protecting wasn't enough and she had attack, she ran over to the girl running with the ball and kicked the ball over to one of her teammates, the girls spread around the field as Charlotte got as close the the opposite team's goal as she could. The girls passed the ball on to each other until it finally got back to Charlotte, she dodged the other teams players and kicked the ball as strongly as her body could, that weeks training raised her resistance, stamina and strength making that, the winning shot.
The whole group cheered and hugged each other but before she could utter a word she felt a body right against her and two arms wrapped around her neck, as she checked out the person to figure out who was hugging her she realised it was Sahra and as she smiled she wrapped her arms around the cheerleader's waist.
Both the soccer and cheer coaches were so eager about the win they invited both the players and the cheerleaders to pizza.
During the walk to the restaurant Sahra was enthusiastically praising Charlotte who was making her best efforts to hide her blushing.
-You were amazing!- Said Sahra with a smile that could make anyone's day just by looking at her
-It wasn't that impressive, I was even slower than the snails passing by- Said Charlotte as she let a little smile escape her mouth as she looked at Sahra's stunning brown eyes, somehow those eyes always managed to completely hypnotize her.
-You literally saved the team, it looked like the other team was gonna score but you managed to turn it around! You're the school's hero... or at least mine- She said as she looked into Charlotte's eyes, they looked into each other's eyes for a few seconds, which felt like an eternity to Charlotte, before she turned her gaze away.
The girls finally got to the restaurant and ordered as many different pizzas as the coaches' wallets could buy, they enjoyed the night and even got to stay past their 8pm curfew.
As the pizzas ran out, the money ran short and the girl's stomachs were full they all walked back to the academy. That day would stay in those girl's heads, or at least in Charlotte and Sahra's heads, as one of the best days of their teenage years.
Sahra and Charlotte said goodbye as they walked back to their dorms and explained the whole night to their roommates, that night the teacher in charge of the bed checks decided to spare the girls for one night as a reward for their win. Since they never got a knock on their door telling them to turn off the lights, Charlotte and Kayla stayed up until 2 am, what they didn't know was that Sahra was in the exact same situation a few floors under with her roommate Sidney. The girls finally fell asleep as tiredness from an eventful evening finally caught up to them and not even the brightest light could stop their eyes from closing.
As the light of day shined through the dorm windows and the sound of an alarm clock invaded the room Charlotte got up to start her day, she was tired from her late night but she felt better than ever after her win the previous night so she quickly put on her uniform and went to the dining hall, that morning she had gotten there before her roommate and even before Sarah who was always early to everything. Charlotte always noticed when Sahra was in the room, after seeing her sitting there every day she just assumed she was an early bird but that morning she had beat her, it wasn't really that big of an achievement but it felt like an amazing accomplishment to her which only made her morning better.
Charlotte went to class and went on with her day as she normally would, at the end of the day she was storing her stuff in her locker when she overhead a group of girls talking about Halloween. Then it hit her, Halloween was in a few weeks and she still hadn't decided her costume.
Charlotte went back to her dorm where Kayla was sitting reading superhero comics
-Kayla! I need help with my Halloween costume- Charlotte said as she rushed over to her friend
-What do you need? - Kayla asked in response
-I don't know what to dress up as- She said
-You could go as a character you like or you could even do a pairs or group costume with someone!
Pairs costume... Charlotte hadn't thought about that but as soon as she heard Kayla mention it something clicked in her brain telling her that was it.
The day of the long awaited match is finally here and the nerves are all over the place, the result of the game leads to Sahra and Charlotte having some off-campus time together. Just as the chapter comes to an end Charlotte remembers something.
This is the story of how two girls' love expanded as they grew and matured through their high school years at prestigious boarding school "Monarch Academy for Girls".
Through the story we get to watch Charlotte and Sahra form a unique bond that will help them through all their high school shenanigans.
