Leandro Garner, was the Master in Enchantments. Nothing about him attracted much attention, he dressed simply, in white, and always spoke in a meek and calm tone.

“And we all know that right now we need all the powerful mages under our wing.” - His eyes, if anyone was paying attention, glowed with a spark of hidden feeling.

“Yes, but this institution was built on the tradition of arcane magic, and this boy is as chaotic as the Pascoal twins were.” – Retorted one of the teachers.

“But Professor Leandro would be able to keep it under control, right?”

With that, everyone fell silent, weighing their options.

The director's voice echoed through the silent room.

“All those who favor that Theo Pascoal, a second year student of Alchemy Sciences, be tutored by Professor Leandro Master of Enchantments, raise your hand.”

Theo hurried toward the courtyard, his lungs burning but he couldn't breathe. It wasn't until he saw Kai and Sam waiting for him that he let out a breath.

Kai ran to meet him, while Sam waited, sitting on a banister.

“So?” - Sam asked trying to sound nonchalant. His relationship with his cousin was on the best of days friendly, and on the worst... he was the son her father never had.

“A-are they really going to...e-kick you out?”

Kai took Theo's hands, with voice full of anxiety. If there is an equivalent word in the dictionary that describes something so sweet and innocent, it would probably have Kai's picture to illustrate.

Like a unicorn. Theo thought. Blushing and a little embarrassed, he broke the news.

“I'm going to have to help out at the library for a month and-”

Sam rolled his eyes.

“Unbelievable, you always get away with it...”

—…and I kind of got promoted to apprentice!”

Sam jumped off the banister and walked off toward the dorms.

“Wow, did they give you an award too? Did they nail your portrait to the hall of fame?

“Actually…” Theo joked, a mischievous smile on his face.

Sam was a year older than Theo, and, perhaps because her parents were twins, they looked alike, the golden-brown skin, the onyx eyes, and the dimples in their cheeks when they smiled. In personality they were like the sun and moon.

“I-I already work at the library, so you won't be there alone, Theo.” – Said Kai, their cheeks rounded and rosy, under expressive eyes, one green and one honey brown.

Both Theo and Sam looked at Kai tenderly, it was hard not to like that reincarnation of a puppy begging for affection.

Kai worked in the library as willingly as he had studied Chantings in the Brado class, begrudgingly, but trying to please their mother -

“Dona Abigail will love to see you.” - Sam and Theo's smile were the same when they were mischievous, the difference was that most of the time Sam's tone was acid and cutting.

“…”

Theo looked at Kai and they both turned red. Kai's mother was the librarian, and she was as devoted to protecting the books as a soldier should protect his king, with his life.

“Remember that time you conjured fog in the library?” – Sam began to list his cousin's “flaws”.

“I was working on a spell to prevent the books from absorbing humidity.” – He replied stubbornly.

Instead, Theo had managed to conjure a bluish mist that spread across the place. He decided that maybe the spell had worked to get the moisture out of the books, he just didn't know where to send the moisture next.

“O-or the time you set fire to the Headmaster's statue. – Kai said too, without malice, just laughing at their friend's antics.

“It was just an illusion test! I saw a student from the Arcane Magic Science course do.” - This time Theo laughed too, and he bragged about it. “It took them all afternoon to realize that there was no real fire!”

“And from that time-

“Okay guys, I get it! The important thing is that I am now an apprentice, and I will be able to study everything I want the way I always wanted to!”

Theo was committed to learning everything, from every course, from every class, whatever the cost. He looked at Sam, and remembered with regret what his motivation was, his uncle, her father, the man who treated him as a son.

“A-and who's going to be your tutor?”

“I hope it's Heitor, then it will be real punishment.”

Sam still had hope that his cousin would pay for his lack of responsibility.

“I don't even want to imagine!” Theo shuddered.

“S-so who was it?”

“I thought all the professors at Colosso hated you, they all look like f*ck*ng as-”

Theo covered Kai's ears.

“W-what was it?”

Theo Pascoal is a young mage who studies at the prestigious UAM, where he is the worst among the worst apprentices. But he was not always like that, at age 6 he was a prodigy in the magical arts, and since then he has dedicated himself to the studies of Magic under the guidance of his godfather, Mr. Rabbit. When Theo finally joined the UAM, he discovered that there is much more to magic than what he learned from books, and what master wizards teach in their disciplines. Because of this, Theo insists that it is possible to improve the old spells that are taught, but he always gets into trouble by blowing up classrooms with some modified incantation.

Trying to prove himself right, Theo embarks on a journey through the seven circles of the Astral Plane, unaware that he is carrying the mystical Dreamcatcher with him.
