As the other girls in my cabin unpack their belongings, I lay comfortably on my bottom bunk. Even with the other activities I have done today, All I can think about is my power. I went on the rickety bridge, a high bridge with the steps separated and the rope connecting them. It was hard, but gripping onto the dangling harness made it a bit easier. Eventually, we had chicken and potatoes for dinner. So far, that is my favourite thing here. The camp has delicious food. Looking back at the sky, It turned darker to an indigo blue. Some of the girls hopped to their beds, ready for lights out. Meanwhile, the rest of them argue with each other over who will shower tonight. The shower was tiny and mucky, but I think all they care for is some water on their bodies instead of sweat. I sit on the mattress, wearing my pyjamas; an oversized pastel blue tee and loose grey shorts. My AirPods are also in, as my phone plays more music.

The door creaks open to reveal Joyce wearing a soft smile on her face.
"It's 10 o'clock girls. Lights out now."
The teenagers, including me respond by tucking ourselves in our sleeping bags and blankets. The black haired girl bids us Good night. I shut my eyes and toss around the bunk a few times, but It's no use for me to get to sleep. Some time has passed by as my eyes grow puffy. My body is exhausted, as are my eyes, but my brain is not. Meanwhile the others are fast asleep and some snoring. After giving up on sleep, I shuffle deeper in my sleeping bag opening a game on my phone. The sleeping bag shields me, like a cocoon. Within a few screen swipes taps and funny sound effects, my phone slips on my chest.
Eventually, after moments of sleep, wind whistles through the cabin, like an intense horror movie scene. I slowly open my eyes, glancing at my side to check tiredly. With nothing in sight, I lie down. The whistles of the wind come back, only stronger. The coldness of the wave sends goosebumps down my body causing me to inhale sharply. Confused and a little frightened, I slip out of my sleeping bag banging my head against the bunk above me. Peeking out the window, there was nothing but a night sky and the sandy volleyball field. As more wind entered, I tip toed over to shut the window. It slams loud. I grimace hoping that I did not wake anyone up. I shuffle back to my bunk about to slip in my sleeping bag.
"Having trouble sleeping?"
A voice asks. My heart races, looking up. A short girl poking her head out the window stares at me. I stumble out of bed with my blanket still gripped in my hands, exclaiming in fear.
"W-Who are you? And why are you here?"
I asked out of confusion and fear. She sighs then hops on my bunk. Her hair shines like the edge of a razor and her skin shines with the help of the moonlight.
"Pardon my manners, Justice. My name is Jane."
She responds wisely, but cold.
"Do you like Brenowa Camp so far?"
She asked.
"Um...Not really."
I reply quietly.
"Well, you have a long way to go."
She replies, crouching on my mattress with her crossed arms supporting her chin. After her statement, I am left confused.
"What do you mean? Is there something you want from me?"
I ask her out of annoyance. She sighs in disappointment, her palm tapping against her face. Her cloak reveals her fingers and arms, surrounded with scars, making my eyes widen. Her face is released from her grip, revealing an annoyed look.
"You see, there may be a surprise for you, Justice."
I blink a few times, raising my brows.
"I don't understand. I hate to be rude, but I think you're just talking crazy."
Jane dashes to me and grips my shirt aggressively.
"Listen to what I have to tell you. You'll thank me later."
I am still convinced that she is mentally crazy. What is her goal?
"What exactly do you need to tell me, and why out of all the times did you choose now?! I already had a horrible day and the last thing I want is for more crazy things to happen!"
I raise my voice, slightly grabbing her wrist firmly trying to get it to release my shirt. Her knotted fingers loosen from it as she slowly backs away. The expression on her face relaxes.
"I came because you're the only person I can tell. The devil seeks the blood of the saviour."
Her words confuse me.
"Who's the devil? Who's the saviour?"
I reply defensively.
"Consider this a warning, Justice. Take care of yourself."
"What?"
I ask.
"I will repeat it once more The devil seeks the blood of the saviour."
The wind whistles again, causing both of us to shiver. It gets stronger.
"I have to go now. We'll meet again."
"Wait!"
I yelp, reaching for her raggedy dress as she hops onto my bed, jumping outside the window. I sit on the floor, staring at the window. I am confused, overwhelmed, and a bit scared. What devil? What saviour? I hope this was all a dream. Or if it was not, I need to find out why Jane came to me. Why did she ask me about Brenowa in the first place? The most important thought to me now is, what has my life become? Are problems going to follow me everywhere?
