Reign’s POV
“This is too early, don’t you think?” Dennis yawned. He brushed his blond clean-cut hair to try to wake himself up.
“Just get up,” I groaned as I tried to pull him out of his bed.
“It’s only 6 in the morning, Reign.”
“Weren’t you a soldier? Don’t you wake up earlier than 6?”
“You’re not my sergeant drill, are you? What makes you think I’ll rush out of bed for you?”
I jumped onto his stomach making him groan in pain. I may be small and flimsy for him since he’s build up muscle from training in the military before but nothing beats a good jump on the stomach. Not with my sharp bones anyway because of my thin flesh.
“Reign!” Dennis pushed me to the side. “Damn.” He turned into a ball and is still groaning in pain.
“Are you awake now?”
“We may be immortals but we still feel pain, Reign.”
“Get up now. I will be waiting for you by the lobby.” I left him in his room to get ready and met Louis in the reception. “Are you busy today?”
Louis glanced at me confused.
“Right, you’re the receptionist. What I mean is, do you have anything else to do today or is it alright if I take you out for a while?”
“I am more confused now, Reign.”
“Do you want to know how a real demon works?”
“Erm?”
“The ones that don’t do receptioning stuff.”
“Sure, I guess…”
After a few more pushes with Dennis, finally, we are out of the apartment. Right now, we’re in front of Gerald’s home.
“What are you planning with that paint?” Louis pointed at the bucket of red paint I’m carrying.
I pointed at Gerald’s sports car.
“Whoa, I like where you’re going,” Dennis whistled.
“I’ve enchanted this red paint to never be washed off no matter what,” I informed Louis and Dennis.
“We could do such thing?” Louis asked.
“Which one? Vandalize or enchantment?” I asked.
“Enchantment.”
Dennis and I nodded.
“Really useful when granting a wish,” Dennis said.
“I can’t wait to grant my first wish. Superior said to focus on my reception duties first and learn how to use my demon powers before he lets me out.”
“Really? That’s unfair. I had to grant wishes immediately as soon as I became a demon.” I’m starting to figure out the favoritism here. The Superior even thought Louis himself.
“Just be happy you weren’t receptionist at all,” Dennis landed a hand on my shoulder. His weight is really heavy so I gasped when he did that.
“Were you a receptionist too?” Louis asked Dennis. I forgot that this is his first time actually meeting Dennis and being able to talk to him.
“Nope,” Dennis grinned.
Louis pouted. “What are the qualities to not become a receptionist?”
Dennis and I shrugged. Neither of us knows.
“Let’s start,” I opened the bucket of red paint and threw it at Gerald’s car. Dennis and Louis helped by smearing it all over. I opened another bucket to throw it on the front porch of their house this time.
“Looks like a murder scene. I like it,” Dennis chuckled. He took out a paintbrush from somewhere and painted on the white door the words My d*ck is so small I need to use a toy to satisfy her - Gerald
I chuckled.
“Toy? For what?” Louis innocently asked.
Dennis and I remained silent.
“Why? Why would you need a toy for?”
Dennis leaned close to whisper at me, “how old is he in human years?”
“Seventeen,” I whispered back.
“Toy car,” Dennis answered.
“Toy car for?” Louis continued to ask.
“It helps. It makes a person very satisfied after playing with it. Sometimes it vibrates too so it’s really fun.”
I nudged Dennis to make him stop talking.
“I don’t understand,” Louis looks really confused.
I shook my head, “it’s not important Louis. Just…just go over that other window and paint more.” I handed a bucket of red paint to him.
Louis obliged and went to the other window to paint an evil face with horns.
I glared at Dennis.
“What? Technically he’s 22 in demon years. He’s gotta learn somehow. My poor guy died a virgin.”
I hit him with an empty bucket, “he’s seventeen for demon’s sake!”
“Is this how protective you are with George?” Dennis laughed.
I didn’t laugh along with him. I lowered the empty bucket to my side.
Usually, when I am not doing anything, I would visit him in his house and watch him do domestic chores such as cleaning the driveway, cooking for his family, or just simply watching movies. But now here I am doing this ridiculous thing with these half-demons to at least punish Gerald for what he did to Belle though this is not even close to what he did to her.
I watched Louis as he happily vandalizes Gerard’s mansion with the red paint. He really looks like a kid which made me feel even more sorry for him. I guess I am unintentionally taking care of Louis the way I was taking care of George. Has George reincarnated yet?
“Hey, I didn’t mean to make you feel bad.” Dennis realized that I wasn’t going along with his giggles.
“Do you think he already reincarnated? It’s been a month.”
Dennis used my shoulder as an anchor to rest his arm, shifting all of his weight on me. “Maybe? Have you checked any of his family members? Usually, they reincarnate within the family.”
“Not yet. Maybe I should check his son for him.”
Dennis nodded, “I’ll come with you.”
We continued to mess up with the huge mansion until the main door unlocked. Immediately the three of us turned invisible so they wouldn’t see. The first one to see everything was a woman who seems to be in her late fifties. Her mouth fell open and her face turned white as soon as she saw the catastrophe.
“GERALD!” She screamed for him. “GERALD! YOU BASTARD!”
That’s the start of the commotion in the whole household. Gerald went to check what his mother is so mad about to see what Dennis and Louis painted on their house. He seemed to have just woken up from a long night since his hair is still messy and there are signs of dried saliva by the side of his mouth.
His mom went to him to hit him with a rolled-up newspaper, “you bastard! What did you do to our mansion?!”
“Huh?”
His mom pulled him out of the house and showed him the phrase that Dennis painted earlier.
Gerald’s eyes widened in fear. “Mom, this is not me!” Gerald cried. “Why would I even paint about my dick? It’s got to be someone from college!”
“Shut up! Clean these all this instant!”
“But, Mom–”
He got hit with a newspaper once more. “Clean it this instant before anyone else sees it! This is so embarrassing! Our house is on the main road too!”
