Jasmine sighed as she stood at the end of the driveway to Taylors' house. She had tried to go home but couldn't bring herself to. She just started walking and ended up here. She wasn't sure they would even let her stay here anymore. Why had she done that? She was so stupid. The door burst open and Papa bear came running toward her. Great now she'll have a black eye to match. "I'm going," Jasmine says backing up.
"No, your not." Papa Bear growls grabbing Jessica by the shoulder, pulling her in for a hug, "Where have you been. We've been worried sick. We thought he hurt you again."
"What? No, I didn't even go back." Jasmine frowned pushing Papa Bear away.
"Good. Good." Papa bear stopped and turned toward the house, "Come on, you gotta get inside. It's freezing out here." Papa bear said pulling Jasmine gently towards the house.
"Jasmine?" I heard Mamma Bear holler from the kitchen.
"She's home. I found her standing in the driveway. She's freezing." Papa bear hollered back.
"I'm fine, really," Jasmine mumbles trying to calm the two adults as Mamma Bear comes running in from the kitchen.
"Tyler, get me some blankets!" Mamma Bear yells up the stairs.
"What's going on?" Taylor asks walking into the foyer from the living room, her hair a mess from falling asleep on the couch. "Jasmine?"
"She's freezing." Mamma bear mumbles.
"I'm fine," Jasmine says looking Taylor in the eyes with a reassuring smile before being handed a blanket by Tyler. "Thank you."
The girl every boy wanted and every girl wanted to be only wanted the one person in the entire school who didn't want her or to be her, the quiet kid who just wants to be left alone so the day can go by without there being a total disaster like catching the attention of the whole student body because the head cheerleader likes her.
