“It’s a hassle to go back and forth from your apartment every week.”
“I’m fine with that.”
Evelyn looks concerned about Daehwan's travels from his office to their apartment almost every day since the intensity of his visits has increased these days.
“I’m not fine.”
She takes it quickly. And locking her eyes into Daehwan. Like usual, sharp but calm, yet dominating. What a perfect combination with the pretty face of hers. Which is always recorded in Daehwan’s mind as 101 reasons to adore Evelyn.
“Let’s live together.”
She continues. That sentence almost choke Daehwan on his steak. Clearly he almost lost his calm, to the point his eyes widened as a result. However he replies in an instant, to make her not catch up with his unreadiness.
“But my studio is small. You won’t feel comfortable with it.”
Daehwan, still in his deliberation mind, mixed with a little bit of wholesome feeling questioning why the words suddenly sparked out of Evelyn's beautiful lips.
“Sorry?” She grinned
“Are you the kind of man against the idea of living in their partner’s house?”
Now that got Daehwan more confused than before. It took him a while to understand. She doesn’t want to live with him in his apartment, but for Daehwan to be moving in with hers. Still, that can’t make him wrap his mind around the conversation.
Isn’t it too quick to escalate onto this level of relationship? He thought. Their dating life is still in the honeymoon phase, that’s too risky to take it that far. It should be something to talk about some other time with a more conditioned atmosphere.
“It’s not that.”
“Then there’s no objection I would like to hear from you.”
Refusing the offer isn’t a good idea at the moment because of her persistence. So he decides to talk it over at the very moment. Unluckily, the conversation stops by a phone ringing before he opens his mouth.
“Can I take this call for a moment?”
It’s a call from his department, the voice on the other side of the line sounds familiar. Daehwan's reaction is quite shocked as he listens carefully to it while looking at Evelyn who’s gazing outside on the dining room glass door.
She has no idea what they’re talking about, as calm as she stares into the city light and next apartment building while sipping her glass of wine.
“Okay, I got it. I’ll be there right now.”
As he hangs on the call and walks to the dining table, he says in wary voices.
“I need to go now….” He suspends his talk, looking at Evelyn who’s still into her reverie. Instead of hurrying himself, he still stood there doubting to say something to her.
“What?”
She stares at him and puts down her glass.
“I think you need to go with me this time.”

Took them twenty minutes to arrive at the location. They rush to the location as Daehwan explains the whole situation. It was a luxury pub in Gangnam. Some police are talking outside with the siren on the police cars shrilling the city noises, other than that the commotion merrier in the inside of the building. It was Chief Park and some of the patrol police questioning the pub owner and the staff. The female owner is clearly unpleasant and showing aggressiveness to Chief Park, he keeps pressing her with questions she refuses to answer.
“Don’t I have the right to object to the question until I have an attorney? Fuck… Just take me to the police station, I don’t care. But don’t stop the business tonight!”
“I swear I didn’t know those scumbags use drugs, I run my business clear officer…”
“I promise I will change the system for the better, even if I need to, I'll put CCTV inside the room, even the VIP room, please sir…”
Her demeanour changes, she knows they won’t bother with whatever reasons are going to come out of her mouth, but she can’t give up on her last attempt. The pub owner holds onto Chief Park's hands and begs him to listen to her explanation, but he reverses the words she said before that she has the right to remain silent as she will have her attorney to defend her statements later.
As the other police officer cuffs the lady, she keeps refusing them to drag her into the car and insist they can’t close the pub tonight because that’ll make her suffer a lot of losses. Even though it’s obvious the condition won’t be conducive to continuing the business as all the customers are being held captive inside the building, they aren’t allowed to leave the building before the inspection is over.
Daehwan, and Evelyn seen following behind him, quickly approach Chief Park. He doesn’t want to talk much and brings them into the VIP room where the main suspects who’s busted abusing illegal drugs are still.
The room was on the third floor, it was a large corner VVIP room. As they open the door, there are a total of six stoned kids sitting on the couch, two others are laying their faces on the table. They all look as high as ever even though they know the police were there to arrest them but there’s no energy left for them to even raise a single finger nor to respond to the police questions. Those remaining two are still unconscious. Definitely they are unaware their life is about over at the moment.
“I’m sorry to call you so suddenly and bother you both in private time but you better know this earlier than anyone.”
She ignores Chief Park’s words. As soon as she recognizes one of them whose face is buried on the table she strides fast approaching that kid and pulls his hairs up onto the air.
He was shocked by the sudden jerk of his body and jolt. Opening his eyes half, and yanking back his body to lean on the couch, groaning and putting his hand on the forehead. Shielding his eyes from the bright light of the room.
He stares onto above him, someone he knows looking so damn mad, just to realise that face was Evelyn. And sit straight suddenly, pulling all his consciousness back into his body as he can.
“Evelyn?! What are you doing here…”
THe young man speaks with a hoarse voice and looks around the room. There are already cops surrounding them along with his other mates who're almost fully awake now.
The table was full of evidence. Cocains, cannabis and some other pills. He was even sleeping beside a pile of white powder. That moment he knows he is finished. There’s no time to make a call to Mommy as he usually does. So he just covers his face as he leans back to the couch with a surrender gesture.
The remaining one is still unconscious. The police told them to stand up and handcuff everyone. One by one got into the car and were taken away. Evelyn makes a call to her father, informing that Hayeon was caught by the police for drug use. As expected his voices raise, she takes the phone away from her ear. Then continue explaining the events for a moment before hanging up.
She makes another call again, to her older brother. Explaining the same thing as she did to their father and asking him to take precautions so the incident does not reach reporter mics. Even though she knows it might be late, Evelyn knows that Jiyeon can be relied on. Like when the case of the fight with Hayeon that went viral on national TV, Jiyeon was able to quickly defuse the chaos and bury the issue. Not even more than a day, no more news appearing either on tv or the internet. It’s like everyone suddenly forgetting such a thing existed that day.
