3rd POV
Lorraine huffed as she walked to nowhere in particular, until she came across the park that her mother used to take her and her younger sister to.
'F*ck it. I'm going to the spot.' The spot was a secret part of the woods in the park that only her mother knew about. She showed it to the girls when Lorraine was almost finished with middle school. She was only fifteen at the time. But she enjoyed the little things with her family. Her nine year old sister was so happy back then...
'I can see why smokers do what they do now... uggh!!!!' she thought as she trudged through the bushes and passed low to high baring tree branches. This part of the woods was like a kids wonderland. Full of cute little critters and plenty of places to climb and even if you get lost, you could easily find your way back to the park. She finally made it to a clearing. It had a beautiful lake like pond that had Lily pads and water lilies. Both white and black swans prospered here but didn't mind the company of sweet souls like Lorraine. Apparently that part of the park was popular back in her mother's younger days. But for some reason nature seemed to take over that part of the park over time and nobody seemed to notice till it was too late. Now only Lorraine knows about this spot. Well, her and her skeletal stalker.
She sat on the old bench by the pond and just stared at all the fireflies flying about the area.
"God. I miss this place. It feels like an entirely different world than that hellhole town." She muttered to herself sullenly.
Little did she know that her stalker was closer than she thought.
"SNAP!!!"
Sans froze. He hadn't seen the stick there. Maybe it was for the best that he caught her attention this way though. He wouldn't hide, he didn't see the point. It was just her. And Frisk had asked for him to protect her. He wouldn't always be able to do that from the shadows, though it'd be best that he tried as not to get caught, but that's enough digression.
Lorraine whipped her head towards him and her eyes grew to the size of dinner plates.
"Who- who're you?! And how'd you find this place?! Are-are you here to hurt or kill me?!" She said as she got into a fighting stance.
Sans suppressed laughter, though he could see how she came to that conclusion so quickly.. It made his smile drop a bit just thinking about it.
"the names sans. sans the skeleton. i'm here, by request of your friend frisk, to protect you. i merely followed you here.." Ok, the last part sounded creepy.
Lorraine let up a little bit when she heard Frisk's name, but she still had a cautious air to her. It then dawned on her that she saw this Monster before. She marched up to him. Even though he was just a few inches taller than her, it seemed as though Sans was being approached by a predator. She got a little too close for comfort and stared at him in his sockets with her unwavering golden yellow eyes. She looked like she was judging his very soul for every sin he made.
He shrunk back, holding his hands up in surrender. "u-uh.." He couldn't utter a word under that stare. And usually he was the judge.
Lorraine seemed to finally recognize him. "Oh! You're that monster that was with Frisk and translating them for the reporters, right?" She said with a much more brightened attitude.
He nodded. "yeah.." That was.. He usually didn't get intimidated that easily. That was weird.
She smiled brightly and backed up a bit and held her hand out for him. "I'm Lorraine. Lorraine Warren. It's nice to meet Frisk's new friend. I'm basically her older sister at this point."
"so she said." He relaxed a little himself. "can't stop talking about you. every time i get back, she's asking how you're doing.. not gonna lie, i told her you'd probably seen better days so she told me to fix it.." He sweatdropped. "i don't know how... well, unless of course, you'd care to make a new pal?" He held his hand out for her to shake, an easygoing smile on his face.
Lorraine's soul started to pulse at his smile. It was probably one of the most adorable things, besides her sister and Frisk, that she ever saw. She blushed a bit then gently took his hand for a shake. But she ended up dragging him to the bench.
"C'mon, I'm in a FOWL mood from my so-called family. Sit with me?" She offered to the hesitant skeleton.
"uh, sure." He agreed, snickering. Whether the pun was intentional or not, it was still there.
They both sat on the bench, still hand in hand. Lorraine looked up at the moon and how bright and glittering it was. The moon's glittering rays shone down on her pale skin. Making her look ethereal. She then looked back at Sans who was staring at her in awe. The water's reflection from the moon seemed to reflect and make her golden yellow eyes glow. Making her look otherworldly.
"Isn't this the most beautiful thing you ever saw?" She said as she saw a white and black swan forming a heart on the pond.
Sans had never seen a swan before, as for the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen... well, he just saw it, staring up at the moon. "one of them.." He decided to answer. "i haven't really seen much of the surface yet, so we will see." He doubted anything could match that beauty though. Lorraine Warren, scary yet pretty.
Without knowing, just staring at the stars, she intertwined and tightened her fingers with his phalanges as she remembered her fondest memories while looking at the night sky.
He hadn't even realized that they were still holding hands as he blushed. He didn't dare let go though. "ya'know, the stars were the one thing i always wished to see when i was underground... they are more beautiful than i ever imagined.." He joined her in looking up at the sky, trying to forget the fact that they were holding hands, or that he thought she was really pretty.
"Really? Well, I can imagine how one would want to see this. There's so much history and stories to these ancient stars. I'm surprised that the ones we recognize today are still even there instead of just slowly dying out in silence like the rest of the stars. Makes you wonder if they're special somehow... which stars or constellations you like?"
"hm.. i don't have a favorite. i enjoy them all. They are all unique and special in their own way. they are all useful.." His gaze wandered back to her as he was tempted to say, "just like you."
Her curious gaze wandered back to his blue face. She stared owlishly into his eyes to see any deceit. When she saw none, she blushed. She smiled childishly with a hint of happiness. "You know, when I look in your eyes, it's like I'm looking at two stars in the void of space. I guess that means you're twice as special." She giggled.
He went BRIGHT blue. He couldn't think of the words he wanted to say. That was, hands down, the nicest thing anyone has ever said to him. And now he was a mess because of it.
Lorraine giggled. "You okay bird bone boy?" She teased.
"yep-" He squeaked out, trying to hide his face with his hood.
Lorraine now noticed how their hands were intertwined. She got a mischievous idea. She brought his knuckles to her lips and gave them a slow kiss. "Are you sure my good sir~?" She purred. Honestly she never thought there'd be a day where she would flirt with someone else because of her condition. Little alone with another species. But her soul throbbed for him.
His wings went limp with shock. Was she feeling what he was feeling? Is that why she was..? 'Why am I just sitting here, do something you idiot!' He internally scolded himself. He cupped her cheeks with his hands and leaned in for a mesmerizing kiss.
She was taken aback by this but she didn't fight it. She kissed back with more force and as she moaned into it. She accidentally let out a "Caw" in surprise as Sans gently nipped her lips.
He slipped his tongue inside as he pushed her down onto her back and straddled her.
She blushed heavily. "A-are you s-sure you want to... m-mate.... with someone l-like me?" She managed to stutter out as she can feel and smell his pheromones reaching her.
He went dead serious as he grabbed her chin gently and looked her in those pretty, golden yellow, eyes. He caressed her cheek gently. "why wouldn't i? you are absolutely perfect the way you are.. my little shining star.. alone alone for so long, but now... i won't allow that." He promised.
She teared up at his words. "I'm not perfect Sans... in fact, I have something to show you before we go any further to see what you're getting into." She sat up and took off her jacket and shirt. Leaving her in her white bra. He was about to say, or in this case, stutter, out something until she turned around and had her back facing him and under the moonlight there were two long raggedy vertical scars.
He didn't know what to say at first. His thoughts were clouded with the desire to hurt whoever the f*ck did this to her. It showed in his tense posture, wings ruffled and spread semi-threateningly, fists clenched and at his sides, sockets devoid of their eyelights. He wanted to make this person or people burn in hell. Then he thought of what she might be thinking right now. She was probably scared. Scared of him rejecting her for something out of her control. He forced himself to calm down, relax. If only a little bit. When he was sure he would be ok, he went behind her, encircling his arms around her waist, and propping his chin on her shoulder with a reassuring smile. "nope, still perfect."
She at this point was slowly sobbing. She never thought that a person this amazing would think like that of her. Sans then traced gently on the old scars. She flinched a little bit.
"sensitive? i can stop." He didn't want to make her uncomfortable.
Instead of being hurt, she blushed a little bit. "A-actually. T-thats f-felt nice... I haven't t-touched back there in a while. So it feels nice..." Sans decided to gently rub the space between where her wings used to be and then moved to massaging her back. She moaned in delight and relief.
He did want to ask. Of course he did, but he wasn't ready to open that can of worms yet. She'd tell him when she was ready. For now, he'd simply make her feel like she was loved, because, well, she was. Call it love at first stalk or something, but he loved her.
Her moans of happiness made his feathers fluff with excitement. He then started getting GUTSY. He started to kiss and gently nip her scars and slowly more around her back. Leaving little marks.
"S-sans?!" She squawked. She can practically smell his pheromones in overdrive. Even the surrounding critters and swans backed off from his smell. He smelled of fresh air and freshly fallen... snow?
"very attractive~" Sans purred, referring to her squawk. He wanted her to have a good time, but he wasn't sure how much longer he could hold himself back.
She could tell he was getting antsy because of his teasing and how his scent kept increasing. So she did what her mouth couldn't do at the moment. She let out her own scent. It smelled of spring meadow flowers and cherry blossoms in full bloom in spring time.
Her scent threw him over the edge as he claimed her body as his.
He bit the base of her neck hard enough to trigger the spot on her spine that let's the brain know who their mate is. She of course didn't know this because humans haven't done that custom in over a hundred years. But monsters still did and Sans would probably have to explain that afterwards.
Throughout the night they both had a "wonderful" time getting to know each other as mates.
At the end of it they were cuddled naked in a nest of their stripped off clothes. It was then Lorraine wondered what would happen after this. How and if they're able to reproduce, how would that even affect the community? How would their children be treated? And or if how many times did they need to mate to actually make it happen? In her Health class, for humans, under the right conditions, it only takes one time. But she had no idea if that was the same for monsters, little alone a monster-human couple.
'What am I going to do?! How am I going to hide this from the people that torment me even in my nightmares. How am I going to protect him? And if it is possible, how am I going to protect THEM?!' Sans woke up and looked at his distressed mate. He could practically smell her worry coming off in waves.
"Hey, hey.. what's wrong, lori?"
"I'm... I'm just worried. With how I have this reputation in town... and how the monsters are being treated so far... How am I going to protect you. Or even have a life with you..." she nervously said as she absentmindedly rubbed and held her lower abdomen. Sans' appeared confused until it dawned on him one her actions and blushed heavily.
"O-oh.. uh.. W-well.." He cleared his throat. "i am also capable of protecting myself. as for a life together... if they can't accept us, then we can move. live off the land, hell i'd even spend the rest of my life underground, never seeing a star again, as long as this little star," He kissed her hands, "stays with me."
"A-are you p-proposing to m-me?" She stuttered out.
He realized that his position, his words... all of it did in fact sound like a proposal. An accidental proposal, but a proposal nonetheless. "uh, yeah, i guess i am." He was going to go with it.
Lorraine looked in his eyes and she smirked. "That was an accident, wasn't it?" She chuckled at his flustered face.
"maybe a little, but you got to admit it was good, accident or not." He pointed out, trying to keep a stutter out of his voice, which surprisingly, he succeeded.
She laughed. Then got a devious idea. She climbed and straddled him with a loving smile. The moon making a halo around her and the stars adding a nice backdrop. In all her naked glory, she grabbed his hand and kissed his knuckles and looked at him with her glowing golden yellow eyes, shadows encasing her slightly. "Sans Skeleton..." she began and waited for him to answer.
"lorraine warren?" He replied curiously.
She snorted and let out a chuckle. "Will you be my husband~?" She asked lovingly.
He became a lightbulb. "i-i, uh, i- no." He said suddenly. "but i will be your mate~."
It took her a minute to process what he said. Her smile turned twice as big and she laughed with a snort. "That's the same thing you doofus! Or should I call you my loving feathered hubby of a doofus~?" She purred out as she laid down on top of him and tracing around his ribcage where his soul was.
He shivered at the touch, chuckling as he gave his signature easygoing smile. "i know it's the same, just teasing. as for feathered hubby, i could definitely get used to that~."
The moon was almost down but the sun had some time to get up. Lorraine then crawled up to him and gently nibbled his collar bone while looking him straight in the eyes. "We still got time~ Round two~?" She purred out as she let out her flowery pheromones.
He didn't need to be asked twice.
With some of their fears resolved and a new PROPOSAL AT HAND. They continued having a "great" time with each other till the sun came up.
